The WWE launched its much awaited Network, New Japan continued to expand, CMLL booked lucha's biggest match in well over a decade, culminating in the country's first million dollar gate, TNA teetered more precariously on the brink of death than perhaps ever before, Daniel Bryan won the WWE's top prize, Dragon Gate and DDT saw continued success before their loyal niche audiences, Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk departed the WWE with one ending up in the most unexpected of places, a developing and divergent style produced some of the best indie matches of the year, the European scene flourished, the Shield disbanded, Batista returned, Daniel Bryan relinquished his championship, and the Undertaker's streak came to an unexpected and dramatic end. These are but some of the happenings, which made 2014 the year that it was, and it is in this year-book that we look to not only recap all of these events and more, but also contemplate their relevance to the greater pro-wrestling landscape, both for 2015 and beyond. It should be stated that this year-book was inspired by the DKP Annuals that were released in 2011 and 2012, in fact, it was the absence of a 2013 annual that inspired us to produce a year-book for 2014.

A pesar de ser la impresión visual personal del periodista, siempre tiende a mantener la objetividad. Por lo general las crónicas periodísticas están basadas en temas que son de corte noticioso y por tanto de interés para un público amplio. Este tipo de relatos puede ser de contenido político, económico, social, cultural, artístico, religioso, deportivo, entre otros asuntos. Su desarrollo implica el uso de un lenguaje sencillo, preciso y directo. Es una narración detallada, secuencial y es minuciosa en su descripción. Parte del trabajo del periodista es investigar acerca del suceso para así poder tener una visión más amplia. La crónica periodística no solo se encarga de informar, sino que presenta una relación ordenada de los hechos, se encarga de explicar sus causas y expone una opinión acerca del tema dentro de su desarrollo Los titulares de la crónica anticipan la información (una causa, una consecuencia, el lugar en que sucedió). Además de la trama narrativa (narración de los hechos), se utiliza la trama descriptiva (descripciones de tiempo, espacio y protagonistas) y la conversacional (testimonios a través de las voces de testigos y de especialistas). También se insertan comentarios y evaluaciones del autor de la crónica que se reconocen por el uso de ciertas palabras y expresiones llamadas subjetivemos.

Top Stories: We unfortunately have some heartbreaking news to start what is the biggest week of the year for pro wrestling, as 32 year-old British wrestler Kris Travis tragically passed away after an 18 month battle with stomach cancer on 31/3. Travis was diagnosed with the disease in October 2014 and had to pull out of the second season of TNA British Bootcamp because of the diagnosis. In 2015 he underwent surgery to remove a tumour and a part of his stomach then went through 18 weeks of intensive chemotherapy, which appeared to put him on the road to recovery. Travis defied all doctors expectations and returned to the ring at a Preston City Wrestling show on August 7th 2015.
