Expert Opinion 7.1 GASCADE Tatjana Braun is spokesperson at GASCADE. GASCADE Gastransport is an independent transmission operator (ITO) which operates a gas pipeline network throughout Germany measuring about 2,400km in length. GASCADE is a joint venture between BASF, Ludwigshafen and OAO GAZPROM, Moscow, which also includes OPAL Gastransport GmbH & Co. KG, and NEL Gastransport GmbH. We interviewed Tatjana Braun in April 2014 and we thank her for the contribution to the report. 7.1.1 GASCADE’S Involvement in the Oil & Gas Pipelines Market Visiongain: Could you provide a brief overview of GASCADE, and your involvement in the oil & gas pipelines market? Tatjana Braun: We transport your natural gas. To this end, we plan, build, and operate a natural gas infrastructure in Germany. We offer our customers competent and comprehensive transport services with a pipeline system based on the highest technical standards. We operate a gas transmission system. Large pipelines for large gas volumes. We use them to directly connect five European countries and to guarantee secure energy supplies in Germany and Europe for the future. 7.1.2 GASCADE and the Regional Oil & Gas Pipelines Market Visiongain: Which pipeline project under construction you consider as most important in the regional market? Tatjana Braun: With our pipeline network, we ensure that natural gas gets reliably from the major sources in Russia and Northwest Europe to the consumers in Central Europe. Our system receives the gas from transit pipelines at Germany's borders and transports it to German consumption hubs as well as to Western and Eastern Europe, thus connecting Germany directly to Poland, the Czech Republic, Belgium, and the Netherlands and enabling transports to France and the UK. Our Germany-based network is over 2,400 kilometers long. The corporate group we form together with our partners OPAL Gastransport and NEL Gastransport operates a network measuring more than 3,300 kilometers in total. This network can transport up to 13 million cubic meters of natural gas per Page 245 www.visiongain.com Oil & Gas Pipelines Market Report 2014-2024: Existing Infrastructure, Capex & Length Forecasts, Contract Analysis & Leading Company Profiles Table 8.6.1 provides an overview of Lukoil in the pipelines market.
