Descendants of George Michael ELLER Descendants of George Michael ELLER American Generation No. 1 1. GEORGE MICHAEL2 ELLER (PAUL CASPER1)1 was born August 01, 1723 in The Palatinate, near Hamburg, Germany1, and died August 25, 1778 in Frederick, Maryland USA1. He married ANNA MARIA SCHNEIDER1. She was born in The Palatinate, Germany1, and died in Frederick, Maryland USA. Notes for GEORGE MICHAEL ELLER: [120198.ged] FROM ANGELINE ELLER'S BOOK and OTHER RESEARCH: Immigrant from The Palatinate, Germany arriving October 7, 1743 from Rotterdam on the ship "Phoenix". He took his oath of allegiance to the King of England September 30, 1743. He is recorded as being 20 years of age when arriving in the New World. He purchased land in Frederick County, Maryland on April 14, 1773. His will stated that there were nine children: Peter, Elizabeth, Leonard, Jacob, George, John, Eve, Maria and Catherine. His estate was settled by the executors, Henry Eller, his brother and Michael Gerber on October 26, 1779. His estate was worth 956 pounds, 15 shillings and 5 pence which was a great sum in those days. He left his wife, Anna Maria 50 pounds, son Peter 97 pounds, son Leonard and daughter Elizabeth 82 pounds each and the balance divided among the rest of his children in equal portions. He participated in the early parts of the German Migration which saw Germans enter America through the Port of Philadelphia into southeastern and south central Pennsylvania and then to Frederick County, Maryland, many finally settling into Southwestern Virginia and Northwestern North Carolina. FROM OTHER INFORMATION: George Michael traveled to America from his home in the Palatinate, Germany with four brothers according to historian Jim Eller and records that recorded travelers from Germany through England to America. All five brothers, being in their 20's, traveled from Rotterdam to England then on to America. George Michael arrived on the ship Phoenix in 1743 and is believed to be the fourth oldest. NIELSEN MUSIC YEAR-END REPORT CANADA 2016 NIELSEN MUSIC YEAR-END REPORT CANADA 2016 Copyright © 2017 The Nielsen Company 1 Welcome to the annual Nielsen Music Year End Report for Canada, providing the definitive 2016 figures and charts for the music industry. And what a year it was! The year had barely begun when we were already saying goodbye to musical heroes gone far too soon. David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Glenn Frey, Leon Russell, Maurice White, Prince, George Michael ... the list goes on. And yet, despite the sadness of these losses, there is much for the industry to celebrate. Music consumption is at an all-time high. Overall consumption of album sales, song sales and audio on-demand streaming volume is up 5% over 2015, fueled by an incredible 203% increase in on-demand audio streams, enough to offset declines in sales and return a positive year for the business. 2016 also marked the highest vinyl sales total to date. It was an incredible year for Canadian artists, at home and abroad. Eight different Canadian artists had #1 albums in 2016, led by Drake whose album Views was the biggest album of the year in Canada as well as the U.S. The Tragically Hip had two albums reach the top of the chart as well, their latest release and their 2005 best of album, and their emotional farewell concert in August was something we’ll remember for a long time. Justin Bieber, Billy Talent, Céline Dion, Shawn Mendes, Leonard Cohen and The Weeknd also spent time at #1. Break out artist Alessia Cara as well as accomplished superstar Michael Buble also enjoyed successes this year.

  • George Michael Was Britain's Biggest Pop Star of the 1980S, First with The
George Michael was Britain’s biggest pop star of the 1980s, first with the duo Wham! and then as a solo artist. The Three Crowns played a small but significant part in his story. After Wham! made their initial chart breakthrough with the single Young Guns (Go for It) in 1982, George’s songwriting gift brought them giant hits including Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go and Freedom, and they became leading lights of the 80s boom in British pop music, alongside Duran Duran, Culture Club and Spandau Ballet, even exporting it behind the Iron Curtain. His first solo album Faith, released in 1987, sold 25 million copies, and George sold more than 100 million albums worldwide with Wham! and under his own name. George was born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou in Finchley, north London. His father, Kyriacos Panayiotou, was a Greek Cypriot restaurateur, and his mother an English dancer, Lesley Angold. In the late 1960s the family moved to Edgware, where George attended Kingsbury School, before they moved to the affluent Hertfordshire town of Radlett in the mid-1970s. Bushey Meads Comprehensive 1974 - 1981 George – a wimp Andy - cocksure In September 1975 a twelve year old George showed up at Bushey Meads School keen to impress as the new boy and was introduced to Andy Ridgeley who had already been impressing for a full year. Andy recalled their meeting as follows; “I remember at the time we were playing King of the Wall. As he was the new boy we goaded him into it. I was up there and he threw me off.
