The 22-year old Serbian star will be making her first trip to New Haven, where she will be seeking the ninth title of her career. Two years ago Ivanovic had a magical season that included the French Open title, a runner-up finish at the Australian Open, and the World No. 1 ranking. The following year in 2009 was filled with nagging injuries that caused inconsistency and left her without a title for the first time since 2005, but she did reach the finals at Indian Wells, and the fourth round of the French Open and Wimbledon. This year she has reached the semifinals at Brisbane and in Rome. “I am excited to make my first visit to the Pilot Pen,” said Ivanovic. “I have been working hard on my game, and hope that I can play well and capture the title. I’ve heard great things about this event, and hope that this could be the first of many more trips to New Haven.” Ivanovic is a star that transcends the sport, with model-looks that have graced the covers of numerous magazines around the world.

Men Respond to Women's Tennis Grunts With Armpit Farts by Con Chapman WIMBLEDON, England. When it began with Monica Seles, it seemed innocuous, or merely annoying. But now, say old school tennis champs including Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert, the practice of grunting by women's tennis players when they hit a shot has become a technique to rattle an opponent, a violation of the sport's high standards of etiquette. Monica Seles: She started it. “It used to be I could get away from my job and relax by watching tennis,” says Dr. Nigel Holcomb, an obstetrician at London's St. Mark's Hospital. “Now I hear the same grunting out here that we get during a forceps delivery of a twelve-pound baby.” Francesca Schiavone: “Aaargh—double aargh!” Available online at «http://fictionaut.com/stories/con-chapman/men-respond-to- womens-tennis-grunts-with-armpit-farts» Copyright © 2011 Con Chapman. All rights reserved. The dominance of the grunters has enticed spectators away from the men's matches, as sadists and those with a more straightforward prurient interest flock to the stands to hear the sounds women make when they are really, truly satisfied with a shot. “It was like a ghost town out here today,” said John Isner of his two-hour match against Nicholas Mahut at Wimbledon yesterday. “Usually the spectators just look dead.” “Brrrrrip” So Isner and Mahut decided to do something about their plight, and began to engage in friendly but competitive armpit farts, at first just between points but later, as the match progressed, after baseline ground strokes as well.

The Grand Slam Tennis Program allows you to see how recent grand slam tennis champions would fair against champions from the past. You can choose from more than 90 former men's grand slam champions and more than 80 former Women's Champions. In addition, you can choose to play the tennis match at the Australian Open, U.S. Open, Wimbledon, or French Open. International tennis matches can also be played, with the option of choosing from many countries around the world. The program is perfect for simulating individual match ups or holding an entire tournament. This is not video graphic game. It is a statistical game based on each former tennis player’s historical success in playing major grand slam singles events. While some players have a higher probability of success, their performance in any particular tournament is still subject to the laws of random probability. For example, a player who has had major success in the French Open is likely to do well in the French Open, but could still lose to a player who has had less historical success in the French Open.
