God Bless you, Fr. Rene Canales, Pastor My Dear Parishioners, Hello, my name is Carmen Williams. I am the Office Manager of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and Our Lady of Hope Parish (Saint Jude Church Regional Hispanic Ministry). I am a mother of a 37-year-old son, a 31-year-old daughter and grandmother of five beautiful grandchildren. My home parish is Saint Clare of Assisi in Swedesboro NJ. The love for the mission of the church started when I did my First Communion in Puerto Rico. My father was the sacristan and adult server at my home parish growing up and that inspired me to serve in the church. I began to work in other parishes in the dioceses of Camden where I met Father René Canales. I helped Father René to develop and organize Hispanic ministry in two parishes, Saint Gabriel the Archangel in Carneys Point and Saint Clare of Assisi in Swedesboro. In 2015 Father René was transferred to Our Lady of Hope to start the Regional Hispanic Ministry. There, Father René asked me to help him again. Since the need of the regional Hispanic ministry was greater, in 2017 I decided to enroll in Saint Joseph’s College of Maine to pursue a bachelor’s in theology. My responsibilities include: From 2012 to 2015 I was the religious education coordinator at St Gabriel the Archangel and St Clare of Assisi parish for the Hispanic ministry, parish secretary and sacramental coordinator. From 2015 to present, Saint Jude Church as the director of religious education (DRE), sacramental coordinator, safe environment coordinator, Lay formation coordinator and office manager. In September of 2020 I began to work in Our lady of Guadalupe Parish. It has been a blessing to work and to serve you. I hope and pray that we will have more years to come.
