BFI FAN FILM EXHIBITION FUND AWARDS OVER £750,000 TO UK EXHIBITORS TO SUPPORT DIVERSE PROGRAMMING AND BRING BACK AUDIENCES National Lottery funding aims to re-engage audiences with collective, big screen film experiences London, Monday 14 December 2020: Over 140 film exhibitors around the UK have received a share of £759,159 to boost cultural programming and activities to engage diverse audiences as lockdown restrictions ease. The BFI FAN Film Exhibition Fund supports activity to re-engage audiences with collective, big screen film experiences at film festivals, mixed arts venues, and both community and traditional cinemas around the UK. This particular strand of support has been made available via BFI‘s National Lottery funding to the BFI Film Audience Network (FAN). BFI FAN is a unique collaboration of eight Film Hubs managed by leading film organisations across the UK, who each distribute the funding in their region or nation. The BFI FAN Film Exhibition Fund will enable FAN Members to deliver a broad range of programming once they restart, ensuring excellent British and international independent cinema is available to audiences all over the UK. Other priorities of the fund are incentivising exhibitors to embed inclusion and environmental sustainability into their approach to reopening, post closure during the pandemic restrictions. The BFI FAN Film Exhibition Fund was also supported by a donation from global streaming platform MUBI. The total figure awarded to Film Hub Scotland members of £220,000 includes additional funding from Screen Scotland as announced in early November. Film Hub Wales announced Film Exhibition Fund awards totalling £52,000, also in November. -

ENSEIGNANTS À L'ÉCRAN Une filmographie de 289 titres Jacques Wallet A l'occasion du colloque organisé par l'INRP sur Les images publiques des enseignants, en cette année où l'on fête le centenaire du cinéma, une recherche documentaire a été conduite sur l'image des enseignants français dans les films de fiction depuis le début du siècle, grâce au partenariat avec les Archives du film du Centre national de la cinématographie à Bois d'Arcy. Ce travail a été mené dans le cadre du service des Rencontres audiovisuelles (département Ressources et communication) par Jacques Wallet, enseignant à l'IUFM de Versailles, associé aux recherches de l'INRP, avec l'aide de Sophie- Charlotte Magnard, stagiaire, pour les recherches filmiques et de Monique Theye, ingénieur d'études à l'INRP, qui a complété la filmographie et en a assuré la relecture et le secrétariat de rédaction. Les actes du colloque suscité sont parus dans Recherche et formation, n° 20, 1995 sous le titre "Images publiques des enseignants" et paraîtront également dans le n° 21 de 1996 sous le titre "Images des enseignants dans les médias". uand j'ai commencé ce travail, mes compétences dans ce domaine se limitaient à une réflexion sur le mode de production et d'écriture des films réalisés dans des classes à des fins de formation profession¬ nelle. Traquer "l'image de l'enseignant" dans les films de fiction s'est révélé à l'usage un atout précieux pour mieux comprendre les richesses mais aussi les limites des films institutionnels qui participent à la formation des maîtres et des documentaires "grand public" diffusés à la télévision. -

The insistence that all facilitators have doctorates in the humanities is, on the other hand, a requirement that the National Endowment for the Humanities builds into all its educational program grants. Some of you have had to ask for exceptions to this requirement, and in all instances, we have approved these exceptions because you have come up with people who are both experienced teachers and also have a special interest in film, literature, and/or aging. In short, we are fully confident that you will all do an excellent job introducing your students to this new, timely, entertaining and yet extremely important subject, one that promises to have a direct personal impact on its participants. -
