A seasonal sampling procedure was performed in the area from a variety of biotops in 0-0.5 and 5m depths at 4 stations between July 2007 and May 2008. A total of 11 species and 16823 specimens belonging to Bivalvia; 15 species and 5482 specimens belonging to Gastropoda and 1 species and 1 specimens belonging to Polyplacophora classes were encountered during the study. The presence of the cosmopolitan Bivalve, Pholas dactylus Linnaeus, 1758 was remarked for the first time in this study. Also, in this context, a list of Mollusca fauna of the Black Sea coasts of Turkey is compiled based on various studies carried out in Turkish coasts of the Black Sea. For this purpose, the material collected from the area between the years 2005 and 2009, within the framework of different projects, was investigated. The investigation of the material taken from various biotopes ranging at depths between 0 and 100 m resulted in identification of 286 mollusc species and 27542 specimens belonging to them. Among the encountered species, Vitreolina cf. perminima (Jeffreys, 1883) is new record for the Turkish molluscan fauna and 18 species are being new records for the Turkish Levantine coast. A checklist of Iskenderun mollusc fauna is given based on the present study and the studies carried out beforehand, and a total of 424 moluscan species are known to be distributed in Iskenderun Bay. Lecce-Monteroni 73100 Lecce RESEARCH ARTICLE ITALY Abstract 1 - Lagoons are ecotones between freshwater, marine and terrestrial biotopes, characterized by internal ecosystem heterogeneity, due to patchy spatial and temporal distribution of biotic and abiotic components, and inter-ecosystem heterogeneity, due to the various terrestrial-freshwater and freshwater-marine interfaces. 2 - Here, we carried out an analysis of environmental heterogeneity and benthic macro-invertebrate guilds in a sample of 26 Italian lagoons based on literature produced over a 25 year period.. 3 - In all, 944 taxonomic units, belonging to 13 phyla, 106 orders and 343 families, were recorded. Most species had a very restricted geographic distribution range. 75% of the macroinvertebrate taxa were observed in less than three of the twenty-six lagoons considered. 4 - Similarity among macroinvertebrate guilds in lagoon ecosystems was remarkably low, ranging from 10.5%±7.5% to 34.2%±14.4% depending on the level of taxonomic resolution. 5 - Taxonomic heterogeneity was due to both differences in species richness and to differences in species composition: width of seaward outlet, lagoon surface area and water salinity were the most important factors affecting species richness, together accounting for up to 75% of observed inter-lagoon heterogeneity, while distance between lagoons was the most significant factor affecting similarity of species composition. -

Cette collection est conservée au Muséum des sciences naturelles à Bruxelles. Le petit meuble à tiroirs illustré ici est une modeste partie de cette très vaste collection ; il appartient au Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle et est conservé à la Station marine de Dinard. Documenti del Gruppo Malacologico Livornese a cura di Enzo Campani Il Genere Mangelia Risso, 1826 in Mediterraneo Novembre 2000 Il genere Mangelia raggruppa Turridi con conchiglia a forte costolatura assiale, profondo seno superiore, canale sifonale da corto a cortissimo. La scultura spirale può essere assente o presente sotto varie forme, ma è sempre assai meno vistosa di quella assiale. La notevole variabilità intraspecifica del gruppo e l'esistenza di un elevato numero di tipi ha prodotto anche qui una certa confusione, simile se non pari a quella esistente per il genere Raphitoma. In effetti l'ultimo catalogo SIM riporta ben 34 specie valide per tale genere. Anche per questo gruppo un fondamentale criterio per distinguere tra loro forme a teloconca quasi identica è l'esame della struttura della protoconca, che può essere poligira di tre giri circa, o paucispira di circa due giri. Nel 1978 J.J. van Aartsen e Fehr-de Wal hanno proposto l'istituzione di due generi separati: Mangelia per le forme a protoconca multispira e Mangiliella per quelle a protoconca paucispirale. Anche tale suddivisione come quella analoga per il genere Raphitoma è stata respinta da Bouchet nel lavoro del 1990. Al di là delle discussioni in merito, la struttura della protoconca è fondamentale per dividere le Mangelia in due gruppi, che continueremo a chiamare Mangelia ss. e Mangiliella, senza attribuire loro valore tassonomico. 1. Eight new species should be added to 304 species of molluscs documented for this area in the recently published check-list of molluscs fauna from Montenegrin marine waters. Studies have shown that the marina Porto Montenegro has been recognized as the host of majority of recorded species (Pinctada imbricata radiata, Thecacera pennigera, Polycera elegans, Euspira catena and Discodoris rosi). Finding of T. pennigera is the first for the Adriatic sea and third for the Mediterranean Sea. Among identified species Pinna rudis is on the List of endangered or threatened species (Annex II Barselona Convention) while Pinctada imbricata radiata is considered as lessepsian alien species and introduced in the Boka Kotorska Bay. Yet, Bittium reticulatum is the most common species with 444 number of individuals and Alvania discors, Cerithiopsis pulvis, Clanculus corallinus, Galeodea echinophora, Scripta Mitrella are the least common type of species with a one individual for each one.
