De Jensen-Healey cabriolet zou tussen 1972 en 1976 in z'n eentje beter verkopen, dan alle Jensens in de daaraan voorafgaande jaren bij elkaar. En als toetje kwam daar dan in 1975 ook nog eens de Jensen GT bij, waarvan er zo'n 500 de fabriek zouden verlaten. Maar zoals u weet, na het toetje is de maaltijd voorbij. En zo ging het ook met Jensen; in 1976 was de vraag naar Jensens zo ver terug gelopen, dat het bedrijf werd opgeheven. De firma van de gebroeders Allan en Richard Jensen, 541 te vinden zou zijn. Dit was overigens dezelfde Jensen Motors, werd in 1934 opgericht. Daarvoor motor, die vanaf 1948 in de Austin Sheerline en hadden de broers zich al toegelegd op de bouw van Princess werd geleverd. speciale carrosserieën en in eerste instantie zou het bedrijf zich daar ook op richten. Voor onder meer Pas in het begin van de jaren zestig stapte Jensen weer Standard, Singer, Morris en Wolseley zouden over op echt 'vette' 8-cilinder motoren. In de jaren carrosserieën worden gebouwd, maar reeds in 1939 vijftig bouwde Jensen de Interceptor (zowel de kwam er onder eigen naam een 4-zits tourer op de Convertible als de Coupe) en de 541, een snelle 4-zits markt. Deze eerste Jensen, de S-type, was gebaseerd coupé.
