The indicators are calculated as explained in the following paragraphs.

8.2 – Method for evaluating the financial condition of the applicants

The evaluation of the student’s financial condition is based on the Indicator of the Equivalent Financial Situation (I.S.E.E./I.S.E.E.U.), pursuant to Government Decree n°109 of 31 March 1998, modified by Government Decree n° 130 of 3 May 2000 related to adjusted income and assets of 2011, corrected adopting the I.S.E.E.U. parameter as foreseen by the Law - D.P.C.M. of 9 April 2001 “Uniformity of Treatment in the Right to University Study, pursuant to article 4 of Law 390 of 2 December 1991”.

8.3 – Calculating the I.S.E.E./I.S.E.E.U.

The I.S.E.E./I.S.E.E.U. is calculated using the financial situation indicator (obtained as the sum of income received by family members increased with 20% of the value of the assets) matched to the number of family members (equivalence scale). 15

To integrate the norms foreseen regarding the introduction of unification criteria for the evaluation of the equivalent financial situation, the following specific situations will be considered to determine the I.S.E.E.U. indicator: - 50% of the income and assets of brothers and/or sisters who are part of the student’s household contributes to the formation of all the indicators of the patrimonial and financial status; - household members’ personal estate held and income received abroad in 2011 will be evaluated on the basis of the average exchange rate for 2011; - real estate located abroad, owned on 31 December 2011, is evaluated only in the case of buildings, and is assessed on the basis of the value of € 500 per square meter.

19

Item 10 – Ranking procedure

The rankings will be determined as follows, for each year of each level of studies:

a) First-year students, enrolled in any degree program (Bachelor Degree, Combined Bachelor and Master of Science Degree (five years), Master of Science Degree, PhD Degree)

• The ranking is determined based on the “equivalent economic situation” I.S.E.E.U of the household divided by the limit of € 20,124.71 multiplied by a maximum of 1000 points given following this formula:

I.S.E.E.U. student 1 – x 1,000 20,124.71

The ranking is determined in decreasing order by the score awarded. Where parity occurs, the highest mark related to the degree program prevails; where further parity occurs the younger age takes priority. b) Non first-year students, enrolled in any degree program

The ranking is determined in decreasing order from the overall score achieved, derived from the sum of the score related to the number of educational credits acquired by 10 August 2012, and the score determined by the weighted average of marks with credits from examinations passed. The highest possible number of points is 1000 distributed as follows: 600 based on the number of educational credits acquired and 400 based on the weighted average of marks with credits from examinations passed, as follows: - score for educational credits achieved by 10 August 2012 is calculated using the following formula:

(Student credits – Minimum credits) ______x 600 (Maximum credits - Minimum credits)

- score for weighted average marks of examinations passed is calculated using the following formula:

(Average student score – Minimum score) ______x 400 (Maximum score – Minimum score)

Where merit is equal, the student who has not used the bonus has the priority in the ranking and then students with the highest income score determined. Where parity still exists, the youngest student prevails. Students using their bonus will be placed at the end of the ranking.

Disabled students with a level of disability equal to or greater than 66% who are in the eligibility ranking, have the right to be awarded a scholarship even if that means that the number of scholarships available will be exceeded.

20

Item 11 – Publication of the temporary rankings and petitions/appeals

The provisional rankings will be published on the ISU Bocconi notice board and the individual status will be available on the ISUdesk www.unibocconi.eu/isudesk by 30 October 2012 for a period of at least 15 days. Any appeals against temporary rankings or requests for revision due to errors of the applicant must be received by ISU Bocconi by and no later than 15 days from its publication. Those wishing to make appeals may present an application only through the on-line ISUdesk and provide ISU Bocconi with all the documentation needed to justify the reasons for the appeal. The outcome of appeals will be published on the ISUdesk when the final raking is released. Any appeals against the final ranking must be made to the relevant bodies in the terms laid down by the regulation.

Item 12 – Granting of scholarships

Scholarships will be awarded in accordance with the number set by these Application Requirements and Regulations. Should there be a lack of beneficiaries in some rankings, remaining scholarships will be awarded to students in other rankings until the number of scholarships established by these Application Requirements and Regulations are all awarded. The granting of scholarships to international students from outside the European Union will take place respecting the regional arrangements contained in the Decree of the General Director of Education, Training and Employment n. 21650 of 13 November 2002.

Item 13 - Payment methods

Scholarship payment will be made in two installments each amounting to half the total scholarship, in cash, on the following dates in accordance with the transfer of funds from the Lombardy Region: • 1st installment: 31 December 2012 • 2nd installment: not earlier than 30 June 2013

Payment will be made via bank transfer to an Italian bank account which is in the name of the student, or co-owned by the student receiving benefits.

Students in their first year of a Bachelor or Combined Bachelor and Master of Science (five years) program will receive the first payment by 31 December 2012, and the balance will be paid only if the student has obtained at least 44 credits by 10 August 2013. The first installment will be kept if by 30 November 2013 the student has obtained at least 44 credits. In cases of revocation, the amount received must be returned to Università Bocconi along with the value of any services received for free. The exemption from university fees received will also be forfeited and the student will have to regularize his or her administrative position at the Università Bocconi TCA University Fees Office. For this reason, it is advisable for students enrolled in a Bachelor or Combined Bachelor and Master of Science (five years) to present a request of contribution bracket determination (not related to the ISU brackets) following the deadlines and methods as defined by the TCA Office (“Tasse e Contributi Accademici”) of Università Bocconi.

First-year students of a Master of Science program receiving scholarships will receive the first payment by 31 December 2012, and the balance will be paid only if the student has obtained at least 39 credits by 10 August 2013, and has met any additional educational obligations. The first installment will be kept if by 30 November 2013 the student has obtained 39 credits, and has met any additional educational obligations.

21

In cases of revocation, the amount received must be returned to Università Bocconi along with the value of any services received for free. The exemption from university fees received will also be forfeited and the student will have to regularize his or her administrative position at the TCA Office (“Tasse e Contributi Accademici”) of Università Bocconi.

If the student has not collected the scholarship amount awarded by 31 December 2013, the student loses the opportunity to collect the amount in cash, but retains the benefits arising from being a beneficiary of a scholarship.

Item 14 – Exemption from university fees and enrollment tax for students eligible for scholarships

Pursuant to article 8 of Law 9 April 2001, all students receiving scholarships, including eligible non-beneficiaries due to lack of funds, are completely exempt from enrollment fees, except those enrolled in the first year fuori corso who have complete exemption from enrollment fees and half-exemption from contributions for tuition.

Eligible students – receiving or non-receiving – upon receiving a scholarship will be exempt from paying the regional tax for equal access to university studies.

First-year students of a Bachelor or Combined Bachelor and Master of Science (five- year) program:

. have the right to full exemption from enrollment fees and university tuition if they have obtained at least 44 credits by 10 August 2013; . have the right to full exemption from enrollment fees and exemption from half of the contribution for tuition, if they have not obtained at least 44 credits by 10 August 2013 but have done so by 30 November 2013; . must pay the university fees and tuition if they have not achieved the required credits by 30 November 2013.

First-year students of a Master of Science program:

. have the right to full exemption from enrollment fees and university tuition if they have obtained at least 39 credits and have met any additional educational obligations by 10 August 2013; . have the right to full exemption from enrollment fees and exemption from half of the contribution for tuition, if they have not obtained at least 39 credits by 10 August 2013 but have done so by 30 November 2013; . must pay the university fees and tuition if they have not achieved the required credits by 30 November 2013.

In cases of revocation of the status of those students who are eligible to receive a scholarship, for any given reason, the exemption from university fees received will also be forfeited and the student will have to regularize his or her administrative position at the Università Bocconi TCA University Fees Office. For this reason, it is advisable for students enrolled in a Bachelor or Combined Bachelor and Master of Science (five years) to present a request of contribution bracket determination (not related to the ISU brackets) following the deadlines and methods as defined by Università Bocconi TCA University Fees Office.

Eligible students who have not received a scholarship are fully exempt from paying the regional tax “Tassa per il diritto allo studio”, and partially exempt (50%) in the case of fuori corso students.

22

Item 15 – Incompatibility – Forfeiture – Revocation

Scholarships may not be combined with similar forms of financial aid provided by Università Bocconi or other private or public bodies, with scholarships awarded by the University pursuant to articles 15 and 17 of Law 390/91, with scholarships for international students awarded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with free accommodation in residential colleges or dorms not run by ISU Bocconi. Students who fall into these categories are given the option of choosing which scholarship to accept.

The scholarship is compatible with financial assistance for periods spent abroad in the Erasmus- Socrates program.

The right to the scholarship expires automatically if the student: . does not present to ISU Bocconi, according to the stated deadline and methods, the original documentation required to check the accuracy of their self-certifications; in such cases the application is treated as a false declaration; . withdraws from their studies during the course of the year; . transfers to another university during the course of the year.

The scholarship will also be revoked, with a specific communication from the ISU Bocconi Director, if the student receiving scholarships: . incurs disciplinary sanctions greater than a written warning for infringement of Università Bocconi regulations. . declares irregular household financial conditions (please see Item 6 regarding the verification of financial conditions and related administrative consequences); . no longer meets merit requirements as foreseen by these Conditions.

Regarding forfeiture and suspension of services, please note that: . students must collect the amount by 31 December 2013, on penalty of forfeiting the payment; . students in debt to Università Bocconi will automatically have all benefits suspended as well as incurring the suspension of all administrative and academic procedures, until such time as their administrative account is regularized;

Item 16 – University transfers and department changes

If the student transfers to another university after 30 September 2012, ISU Bocconi will forward the scholarship application to the financial aid office of the university where the student is transferring. The student therefore loses the benefit conferred by Università Bocconi and will have to repay any money collected.

A student transferring from another university to Università Bocconi after 30 September 2012, will have to request that the financial aid office at the original university officially transfer his/her application provided that it can be presented within the timeframe as determined by the Conditions. The evaluation of the application according to the established regulations is subordinate to receiving the transferred application and completing enrollment at Università Bocconi by and no later than the foreseen deadlines. For the A.Y. 2012-13, the transfer of the application and enrollment at Università Bocconi must be finalized by and no later than 30 November 2012.

Nevertheless those who fail to submit their application before September 20, have the opportunity to do it in the second round. In order to increase the possibility to benefit from the financial aid opportunities for internships, students are invited to submit an application in one of the two rounds even if not sure to actually undertake an internship and/or its timing.

ROUNDS DEADLINE FOR PRESENTING ONLINE APPLICATIONS*

First round 20 September, 2012 – by 3:00 pm Second round 27 June, 2013 – by 3:00 pm * The round in which your application will be taken in consideration will be determined by the date on which the online application is closed.

Strictly by ten calendar days after the online application deadline, the documentation requested in these Application Requirements and Regulations will have to be hand-delivered in a sealed envelope to the Welcome desk of One Stop Service and receipt must be kept as proof of the delivery; or they may be mailed by registered mail (Raccomandata r.r.), in which case the date stamp on the postmark will be considered, at address:

Ufficio Servizi agli studenti / ISU Bocconi Piazza Sraffa, 11, 20136 Milano

In order to correctly complete the application, the following documents are needed; failure to present them will result in the exclusion from the rankings:

• a copy of the summary review of the online application received by email upon completion of the online application process, duly signed by the student; • a copy of the student’s valid identity card/passport; • the same documents needed to apply for ISU scholarship

Should the documents listed above have already been produced in order to apply for an ISU scholarship for the academic year 2012/13, it won't be necessary to deliver a further copy; a duly signed application and a copy of the student's identity card or passport will suffice.

Verifications of the students' actual participation in the programs as provided for in these Conditions will be carried out internally by Università Bocconi relevant offices.

Item 1.5 – Recipients of international mobility grants (International Exchange, CEMS, Double Degree and Themis)

Financial aid is available to students who meet the merit requirements described in these Application Requirements and Regulations and who are correctly enrolled for the 2012/2013 academic year: − in the 2nd or 3rd year or 1st year fuori corso of a Bachelor program, − in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th year or 1st year fuori corso of a Five-year Combined Bachelor and Master of Science program − in the 1st or 2nd year or 1st year fuori corso of a Master of Science program − regularly enrolled in a PhD program.

26

Students participating in the joint degree programs, those who have been chosen or are already enrolled in University partner programs (Double/Joint Degree programs) may not receive assistance because they do not meet the outlined requirements.

Students who are not eligible for the ISU ranking will not be awarded financial aid for internships and international mobility programs.

Item 1.6 – Merit requirements

Only the students who meet the merit requirements set for the ISU Bocconi Scholarship will be able to benefit from the financial aid for Internships and International mobility programs.

Item 1.7 – Bonus for fulfilling merit requirements

For attainment of the minimum merit requirements for access to financial aid, all students, except first-year students of a Master of Science program, can use a “bonus” as described above.

Item 1.8 – Rankings

The rankings for assignment of Financial Aid for internships and international mobility programs type A (“integrazione”) are created according to the same procedures used to establish ISU Bocconi scholarship rankings. Students who already are eligible beneficiaries of aid for mobility or internships during the same study cycle who have not communicated in writing that they do not want this aid within 15 days from the time the aid is assigned will not be placed as eligible beneficiaries in the ranking for mobility or internships, whether the previous benefit that was assigned has already been awarded or not. No rankings will be issued for the assignment of Financial Aid type B (“contributo”): all students eligible for the “integrazione” will automatically be considered eligible for “contributo”.

Item 1.9 – Publication of results

The provisional results of these Regulations will be published on the MsDesk www.unibocconi.eu/msdesk, approximately by the following dates, for at least 15 days:

. International Exchange, Master CEMS-MIM, Double/Joint Degree and Themis – 4 February 2013; . Winter Campus Abroad - 4 February 2013; . Summer Campus Abroad - 27 June 2013.

Payment of grants described in these Regulations will be made prior to verification by the Università Bocconi International Relations Service that the student has met all obligations related to participation in mobility programs. Payment of grants for international mobility programs to students in their first year of a Master of Science program depends on whether the student meets the merit requirements by 10 August 2013 as described in these Regulations.

The grant will be paid at the end of the mobility period, upon verification of the following: - the period actually spent abroad (monthly payments and fractions equal to or more than 15 days); - attainment of the results foreseen by the program which consists in the academic recognition of credits in the student’s study plan.

Once the grant has been assigned, based on the period of time indicated in the documentation coming from the partner school, it will not be possible to change the sums given: therefore please carefully check the documents given to the International Relations Service.

The date set for the payment of the “Contributo” will be communicated directly to students via e-mail. Payments will be made only after the completion of the activity.

Item 1.11 – Recipients of financial aid for internships

These students are not eligible for “contributo”; • graduates of Master of Science programs within their 1st year fuori corso, on the condition that the internship begins within 12 months after receiving their degree. These students are not eligible for “contributo”;

Students participating in the joint degree programs, those who have been chosen or are already enrolled in University partner programs (Double/Joint Degree programs) will not receive assistance because they do not meet the outlined requirements. These grants are not available to students receiving payments and/or grants or scholarships from public or private institutions.

Item 1.12 – Rankings

28

The rankings for assignment of integrations to scholarships are established with the same procedures used to establish ISU Bocconi scholarship rankings. Students who are eligible for financial aid for mobility or internships during the same study cycle and have not renounced it in writing within 15 days from the date of reception of the email notifying the assignment will not be placed as eligible beneficiaries in the ranking for mobility (Study abroad, Campus etc.) whether the previous benefit assigned has already been granted or not.

Payment of grants described in these Application Requirements and Regulations will be made prior to verification by the Università Bocconi International Relations Service that the student has met all obligations related to participation in internship programs.

Payment of grants for internships to students in their first year of a Master of Science program depends on whether the student meets the merit requirements by 10 August 2013 as described in these Application Requirements and Regulations.

At the end of the internship, the International Relations Service or Career Service at Università Bocconi will verify the student’s participation in the internship and the actual number of weeks they participated. If the beneficiary does not participate in the internship for any reason or participates for a period shorter than the established 10 weeks, he or she will lose the right to the grant.
