L.297 - TO OUR VERY DEAR SISTERS CHARLOTTE ROYER' AND FRAN~OISE CARCIREUX' Daughters ofCharity, Servants ofthe Sick Poor at Richelieu January7,16S1 My very dear Sisters, You have a right to complain about me because I have gone so long without thanking you for your beautiful altar cloth which has already adorned our chapel. I thank you for it with all my heart. I believe that Monsieur Vincent has already sent you an answer in the matter you addressed to him. I am pleased that you saw Monsieur Lambert for that reason but you are keeping him a little too long. Extend my very humble greetings to him as well as my regrets. Tell him to please let me know if he delivered our letters to Sister Anne's' aunt and if he remembers Sister Vincente's' business. Sister Charlotte, your father came to see us. He brought me your baptismal certificate which I am enclosing in this letter. I am certain that you will be pleased to have it.

  • WDAM Radio's History of Elvis Presley
Listeners Guide To WDAM Radio’s History of Elvis Presley This is the most comprehensive collection ever assembled of Elvis Presley’s “charted” hit singles, including the original versions of songs he covered, as well as other artists’ hit covers of songs first recorded by Elvis plus songs parodying, saluting, or just mentioning Elvis! More than a decade in the making and an ongoing work-in-progress for the coming decades, this collection includes many WDAM Radio exclusives – songs you likely will not find anywhere else on this planet. Some of these, such as the original version of Muss I Denn (later recorded by Elvis as Wooden Heart) and Liebestraum No. 3 later recorded by Elvis as Today, Tomorrow And Forever) were provided by academicians, scholars, and collectors from cylinders or 78s known to be the only copies in the world. Once they heard about this WDAM Radio project, they graciously donated dubs for this archive – with the caveat that they would never be duplicated for commercial use and restricted only to musicologists and scholarly purposes. This collection is divided into four parts: (1) All of Elvis Presley’s charted U S singles hits in chronological order – (2) All of Elvis Presley’s charted U S and U K singles, the original versions of these songs by other artists, and hit versions by other artists of songs that Elvis Presley recorded first or had a cover hit – in chronological order, along with relevant parody/answer tunes – (3) Songs parodying, saluting, or just mentioning Elvis Presley – mostly, but not all in chronological order – and (4) X-rated or “adult-themed” songs parodying, saluting, or just mentioning Elvis Presley.

  • Novena to St. Joseph (Pdf)
Year of Saint Joseph + Catholic Diocese of Saginaw Novena to Saint Joseph [Editor’s Note: You may begin praying the “Novena to Saint Joseph on Thursday, March 11, 2021 in order to conclude it on Friday, March 19, 2021 – the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Alternatively, it may be prayed any nine consecutive days throughout the Year of Saint Joseph: December 8, 2020 – December 8, 2021.] Day One: Foster Father of Jesus Saint Joseph, you were privileged to share in the mystery of the Incarnation as the foster- father of Jesus. Mary alone was directly connected with the fulfillment of the mystery, in that she gave her consent to Christ's conception and allowed the Holy Spirit to form the sacred humanity of Jesus from her blood. You had a part in this mystery in an indirect manner, by fulfilling the condition necessary for the Incarnation -- the protection of Mary's virginity before and during your married life with her. You made the virginal marriage possible, and this was a part of God's plan, foreseen, willed, and decreed from all eternity. In a more direct manner you shared in the support, upbringing, and protection of the Divine Child as His foster-father. For this purpose, the Heavenly Father gave you a genuine heart of a father -- a heart full of love and self-sacrifice. With the toil of your hands you were obliged to offer protection to the Divine Child, to procure for Him food, clothing, and a home. You were truly the saint of the holy childhood of Jesus -- the living created providence which watched over the Christ-Child.

  • The Misanthrope
The Misanthrope Act I Scene I.—Philinte, Alceste. Philinte. What is the matter? What ails you? Alceste (seated). Leave me, I pray. Philinte. But, once more, tell me what strange whim… Alceste. Leave me, I tell you, and get out of my sight. Philinte. But you might at least listen to people, without getting angry. Alceste. I choose to get angry, and I do not choose to listen. Philinte. I do not understand you in these abrupt moods, and although we are friends, I am the first… Alceste (rising quickly). I, your friend? Lay not that flattering unction to your soul. I have until now professed to be so; but after what I have just seen of you, I tell you candidly that I am such no longer; I have no wish to occupy a place in a corrupt heart. Philinte. I am then very much to be blamed from your point of view, Alceste? Alceste. To be blamed? You ought to die from very shame; there is no excuse for such behaviour, and every man of honour must be disgusted at it. I see you almost stifle a man with caresses, show him the most ardent affection, and overwhelm him with protestations, offers, and vows of friendship. Your ebullitions of tenderness know no bounds; and when I ask you who that man is, you can scarcely tell me his name; your feelings for him, the moment you have turned your back, suddenly cool; you speak of him most indifferently to me. Zounds! I call it unworthy, base, and infamous, so far to lower one’s self as to act contrary to one’s own feelings, and if, by some mischance, I had done such a thing, I should hang myself at once out of sheer vexation.
