• Who: All Scouts and Ventures o Contingent Troops / Crews will be formed in the Great Lakes Field Service Council o Scouts must be at least 12 and have earned 1st Class Rank by July 2021
• What: Scouting’s/Venturing’s Premier High Adventure Event: 2021 National Jamboree (NATIONAL SCOUT JAMBOREES ARE ONLY HELD EVERY FOUR YEARS) o 5 miles of zip lines and challenge courses o 36 miles of mountain bike trails and BMX tracks o 13 acres of shooting sports ranges (shot gun, rifle, and archery) o Whitewater rafting, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, and full waterfront activities o Rock climbing and repelling o Skateboarding o Technology areas, patch trading, service projects o World class entertainment at stadium shows o Summit Center Exhibits and Garden Ground activities o Merit badge earning opportunities
• Where: o Pre-Jamboree Tour (TBD location in 2021, Great Smoky Mountains in 2017 and Washington, DC in 2013 and in 2010) o Jamboree Encampment—Summit Bechtel Reserve, West Virginia
• When: July 2021 (Finalized Jamboree dates have not been published by National)
• Cost: o Contingent fee: Approximately $2,000 per participant (Fees will be finalized following National Jamboree fee publication) o Fee includes council team building weekend, shakedown campout, pre-Jamboree expedition, round trip transportation, meals, Jamboree fees, and more o Camperships will be available
• Scoutmaster and Crew Advisor Adult Leader interviews: o Interviews will be held on December 8 and 27, 2018 at Dauch Scout Center o Online interview registration will be open Fall 2018
