The students share their impressions about the Charyn canyon 7 may 2018 foreign students of the preparatory group of the Department of philological specialties for foreign citizens and pre-University training (Foundation) and 3rd-year students Cieszynskiego Institute of foreign languages and YUEXIU University Sanya (China) enrolled in the Department for the academic exchange of students, under the guidance of senior teacher Laily Mamytbekova visited Charyn canyon - one of the most famous and beautiful places of Almaty region. Foreign students share their impressions of the tour: Li Qian (China): "I was very happy to travel with friends and a teacher to Charyn Canyon. It is very large and beautiful. Although not quite mastered yet, it still gives me a sense of the greatness of nature!". Khusainov Sidik (Tajikistan): "I heard that the Charyn Canyon is a unique place, second only to the American Grand Canyon. And it really is. I saw a lot of rocks, rocks that looked like some kind of animal or human. The natural landscape is unusual. All these beautiful views "direct the sage to the creator." Charlotte Chan (Hong Kong): "This is the first time I have traveled so far from the center of Almaty, and I have seen the canyon for the first time in my life! We thank our university for this. The nature of Kazakhstan is amazing! I love flowers and trees in Almaty, but the canyon is amazing! As I walked through the canyon, I wondered how tiny we were! It was a wonderful day." Chris (Philippines): "We saw the Charyn Canyon for the first time, although it seems to be completely unknown in the west. This is probably one of the biggest attractions of the Almaty region. We highly recommend this place and you should definitely go there. In addition, on the way back on the way home, we could see a very beautiful lake. It became one of our favorite parts of the trip." Shen Jie (China): "This is an unforgettable journey. I felt the Kazakh nature. I was shocked by the natural landscape of the canyon. This is a unique tour. I'll keep it in the corner of my heart." .

This is a tough trip due to the altitude and the terrain. We gain elevation slowly to ease acclimation and never sleep higher than 3,000 m. Due to the remoteness of the terrain, we’ll be camping for 10 nights. It is the combination of conditions – altitude, weather, topography, and overall environment – that makes this a challenging tour and a test of sustained riding. Vehicle support, which allows cyclists the option to get into the truck as needed, is available on all cycling days except for the heli-biking day. The helicopter lifts are dependent on weather conditions. Suitability: This trip is designed for the experienced cyclist with a high level of fitness. The lack of oxygen at the high altitudes we’ll be cycling at, as well as the climbs we’ll be doing, means that this is a tough trip, and you'll enjoy it much more if you have a good level of stamina and fitness.

Kazakhstan: Facts and Figures State: Independent since 1991. Political system - Republic; authoritarian presidential rule, with little power outside the executive branch. Capital – Astana. Largest city - Almaty. Kazakhstan population – over 17 million (over 130 nationalities and 30 ethnic groups: 57% Kazakh, 30% Russian, 4% German, 3% Ukrainian: other signiﬁcant minorities include Uighurs, Uzbeks, Belorussians, Dungans, Koreans, Chechens, and Greeks). Religion – Islam (70%), Christianity. Area – 2,725 thousand sq km; the size of Western Europe; the 9th largest in the world. President – Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev. Language: The oﬃcial language is Kazakh, a Turkic language closely related to Kyrgyz and Turkish. The Government has undertaken to replace the Russian Cyrillic alphabet with the Turkish version of the Roman alphabet. However, the Cyrillic alphabet is currently still in general use, and most people in the cities speak Russian, whereas in rural areas people tend to speak only Kazakh. The younger generation and people working in tourism often speak English. Tatar, Uighur and other regional languages and dialects are also spoken. Dress in Kazakhstan Kazakhstanis tend to dress a lot more formally than most Americans or Europeans. Most nightclubs will have a dress code so don't expect to go dancing in jeans and trainers. Women face few social restrictions on dress, at least in the cities. Weather The Climate in Kazakhstan is continental.
