January, 2010 St. Philip the Apostle Council 9884 Brothers and Sisters, December was a rough month for some council members, and it serves as a great reminder of the reason to support each other materially, fraternally, and through prayers. I want to thank all of the brothers who helped out in the various capacities needed throughout the month. You were all the embodiment of fraternity that truly drives the order. Everyone, please keep the prayers ongoing for all our brothers in need. Council Christmas Party I want to thank all who were able to share in the Christmas spirit with the council. Everyone had a good time with good friends, and the traditional Hula Girl white elephant gift made her annual appearance and will once again go home with a new family this year (hopefully to return again next year) Newsletter Alert: Gone Green This is the first mostly electronic version of the newsletter. While we believe we have everyone who still wants a hard copy marked down and updated email addresses for everyone else, if you talk with a brother who does not get a copy in one form or another please have them contact me at [email protected] or 469-831-5944. Fraternally, Joe Walker, GK As usual, what a great evening we had! There was plenty of help setting up and brother was it needed because the trailer was so far away from Hubbard Hall room. I think everyone had some pizza (hot & cold). Dealing started an hour late, which was ok as it gave us time to fraternize). Dealing still stopped at 10:30 pm; so two- hours of dealing paid the same as three. What a deal!! Special thanks to "pit-crew chief", SK Rich Lubke for tending to a finicky truck that night. We had a nice turn out of 28-dealers including two new men, Tomas Martinez and Jim Wagner. A special thanks to you two. Then there were several dealers that we hadn't seen in awhile, which was also very good; Out of the 95 dealers on our 'on-call' list, if each could do at least one or two a year, then that would be a load off the 30 regulars who usually make all 13-casinos per year. Major kudos to those who served this night. We received feedback from Point Bank that they had a fun night, which is a great reflection on each and every one of you. So here you are, those dealers in no certain order: Dan Jacobs, Jim Coyle, Newsletter Editor-in-Chief and Inside Guard "LJ" (SK Lawrence Jermyn), David Centilli, Marco Melara, Bill Wilbur, SK Bill Miller, Bob Forsyth, 4th Degree Faithful Navigator SK Brian Friesenhahn, Brian Lea, SK Mark Miles, Paul Martinez, Chris Angus, Warden George Driscoll, Johnny Strange, 4th Degree Faithful comptroller SK Ken Johann, Pete Hatton, Grand Knight Joe Walker, Treasurer SK Rich Lubke, Deputy Grand Knight SK Bob LaCroix, Vince Zawlocki, Dave Garner, Pete Whelan, LeRoy Terrio, Mike Wykrant and Charter Member Frank Fehrenbach, a regular. Thank you ALL. - Bill Miller , Casino-Ops Director Newsletters Archived at Texas Knights of Columbus State Website: http://www.tkofc.org/index.php?name=Downloads&c=5 Then enter 9884 in the Search Box.
