Downloaded from 5 6 7 Objectives: Though exposure to alcohol imagery in films is a significant determinant 8 9 10 11 of uptake and severity of alcohol consumption among young people, but there is poor 12 13 14 evidence regarding the content of alcohol imagery in films in low and middle-income 15 16 17 18 countries. We haveFor measured peer alcohol review imagery content only and branding in popular Indian 19 20 21 films, in total and in relation to language and age rating. 22 23 24 25 Design: In this observational study we measured alcohol imagery semi-quantitatively 26 27 28 29 using 5-minute interval coding. We coded each interval according to whether it 30 31 32 contained alcohol imagery or brand appearances.
