    45 Jahre Leichtathletik-Geschichte Hypomeeting Götzis / Vorarlberg 1974 In diesem Jahr hat sich die LG Montfort entschieden, sich für die Durchführung der Österrei- chischen Mehrkampfmeisterschaften zu bewerben. Die im Juli 1973 durchgeführten Mehr- kampfmeisterschaften brachten neben dem großartigen österreichischen Rekord von Sepp Zeilbauer mit genau 8000 Punkten eine beachtliche Zuschauerresonanz. Die einen Monat später in Innsbruck ausgetragene Vorrunde im Mehrkampf-Europacup (Sepp Zeilbauer begeisterte wiederum mit neuem Rekord) brachte Armin Hug, Konrad Lerch, Elmar Oberhauser und Werner Ströhle auf den Gedanken, anstelle des nicht mehr durchgeführten traditionellen Mehrkampfmeetings in Schielleiten eine entsprechende internationale Veran- staltung im Mösle-Stadion abzuwickeln. Die vielen internationalen Kontakte von ÖLV-Mehr- kamptrainer Konrad Lerch zu seinen Trainerkollegen und AthletInnen sollte dabei die Basis für attraktive Startfelder bilden. 1975 Trotz widrigster Wetterverhältnisse (Regen und Kälte) gab es eine Jahresweltbestleistung von Burglinde Pollak/DDR im 5-Kampf und einen tschechischen Sieg im 10-Kampf durch Petr Kratky. Große Begeisterung der Athleten und Mannschaftsführer über die Organisation und die herzliche Atmosphäre, sowie ein kräfti- ger finanzieller Abgang kennzeichneten das erste Meeting. 1976 Die Volksbank konnte als Sponsor gewonnen werden, Subven- tionszusagen von Bund, Land und Marktgemeinde Götzis, sowie vom ASVÖ veranlassten die Initiatoren des Meetings Luis Fessler, Armin Hug, Konrad Lerch, Elmar Oberhauser und Werner Ströhle zu einem neuerlichen Versuch. Im Zehnkampf siegte mit Jahresweltbestleistung und neuem deutschem Rekord von 8.381 Punkten (8.302 Punktetabelle 1985) Guido Kratschmer vor dem mit 8.310 Punkten (8.219) österreichi- schen Rekord erzielenden Sepp Zeilbauer. The talented young Diamond Valley pair have done it again with fantastic doubles this weekend. • 14 year old Eliza stormed through 2000m in the AV Shield Final on Saturday at Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park in a PB time of 8:53.48, bettering Jemima Montag's Victorian U15 State record. And that's after running in the 1500m earlier in the day. Then on Sunday, in VRWC roadwalk competition in Middle Park, she recorded a great 14:07 for 3km. • 16 year old Emmet was second to double Olympian Chris Erickson in the Shield Final on Saturday in a PB of 7:59.30 and then recorded a huge time of 44:28 in winning the 10km roadwalk at the VRWC races the next day. This performance was a 94 sec PB and is now very close to the 2015 World Youth qualifying standard of 44:16. Eliza and Emmet in action last weekend WHAT'S COMING UP The summer season action continues next Saturday evening with the an elite 5000m track walk at the Canberra Track Classic.

    Le Décastar à travers le temps Le Décastar, meeting international d’Épreuves Combinées, accueille chaque année, sur le stade Pierre Paul Bernard de Talence, les meilleurs athlètes mondiaux de la discipline. Créé en 1976, il devient en 1991 le « Décastar, les Dieux du Stade ». En 1998 il est inscrit au challenge mondial des Epreuves Combinées, il en est la dernière étape. C’est après Talence que le classement final est établi, récompensant les 8 meilleurs du Décathlon et de l’Heptathlon. Théâtre d’inoubliables moments 1976 : première édition avec la participation de Guy DRUT, récent Champion Olympique du 110 m haies. Venu relever un défi sur un décathlon, il termine 5ème et établit le record du stade du 110 m haies, jamais égalé à ce jour. Fin des années 80, début des années 90 : 5 victoires de Christian PLAZIAT, n°1 mondial en 1987, 1988, 1989, multiple Champion, Recordman de France et Champion d’Europe à Split en 1990. 1992 : Le record du monde est battu par l’américain Dan O’BRIEN, triple Champion du Monde et Champion Olympique à Atlanta. 1994 : Venue de l’allemande Heike DRESCHLER, spécialiste du saut en longueur, qui réalise la meilleure performance mondiale de l’année. 1996 : 20ème anniversaire du DECASTAR, avec la participation de Jean GALFIONE, Champion Olympique à Atlanta. Il réalise la meilleure performance mondiale au saut à la perche dans un décathlon. 1999 : Eunice BARBER, Championne du Monde à Séoul, remporte le Challenge Mondial IAAF, après une victoire très disputée au DECASTAR. Tomas DVORAK, alors Recordman mondial, remporte la victoire au décathlon.
