He set out on his journey with nineteen initial questions and answers. Wanting to get the best exposure for his creation he decided it would be best to post it on the [adult swim] message board. There it continued to grow to what it is today. Several other members have asked questions that have made it into the official FAQ and others still have helped in answering them.     BAB IV KESIMPULAN Karya manga dan anime Rurouni Kenshin ini diteliti dengan teori Historisme baru menurut Stephen Greenblatt. Dimana didalamnya terdapat pencerminan sejarah yang dapat dilihat dari latar tempat dan waktu, juga kejadian-kejadian yang terjadi, seperti masa peperangan zaman Bakumatsu berlatarkan tahun 1853-1869. Yang dari kejadian-kejadian dan keadaan lingkungan yang ada pada saat itu mempengaruhi perkembangan kepribadian tokoh utama yang digambarkan oleh pengarang manga. Hal yang akan diteliti adalah pencerminan sejarah yang digambarkan lalu reimajinasi sejarah yang dilakukan oleh pengarang, dan bagaimana hal-hal tersebut dapat mempengaruhi perkembangan tokoh utama dalam manga, yaitu Himura Kenshin. Menurut penulis, pencerminan sejarah yang terjadi dalam manga sangat jelas. Hal ini dikarenakan latar waktu dan peristiwa-peristiwa yang digambarkan yaitu pada masa feodal Jepang sesuai yang tertulis dalam sejarah Jepang, namun ada beberapa reimajinasi sejarah yang dilakukan pengarang manga, dan bagaimana sejarah yang digambarkan pengarang dapat mempengaruhi perkembangan karakter Himura Kenshin. Hal-hal inilah yang dianggap penulis menarik dan ingin disampaikan pada penelitian ini. Charish Baldick mengatakan bahwa Historisme baru merupakan rekonstruksi masa lalu dari sudut pandang masa sekarang, dan menyoroti peran masa sekarang dalam membuat ulang masa lalu serta membuatnya lebih mudah digunakan 64 Universitas Kristen Maranatha pada masa sekarang.
