WHEREAS, Rule 3.220(h)(3), of the Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure, provides as

follows:

Location of Deposition: Depositions of witnesses residing in the county in which the trial is to take place shall be taken in the building in which the trial shall be held, such other location as is agreed on by the parties, or a location designated by the court.

WHEREAS, the new Duval County Courthouse on 501 West Adams Street has

deposition rooms and a state-of-the-art security system;

WHEREAS, the Courthouse Annex and new Duval County Courthouse are equipped

with armed officers and magnetometers, providing the appropriate security measures necessary

to ensure the safety of the individuals involved;

WHEREAS, the proximity of the Courthouse Annex to the Duval County Jail and its of security measures makes the Annex conducive as a venue for the taking of depositions

incarcerated witnesses;

WHEREAS, the Courthouse Annex at 220 East Bay Street has the added convenience of

ample parking;

NOW THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as the Chief Judge of the Fourth

Judicial Circuit and pursuant to the Florida Rules of Judicial Administration, it is

ORDERED that:
