Edward married Sarah and had a son John baptised at Coningsby. They moved to but had no means of support and were sent back to Billinghay by Administrators of Poor Law.

They had 4 children. Edward committed minor offences and spent 2 months in prison. In 1832 he stole 7 geese and was transported to Australia for seven years.
