We’ll pay for your tuition fees and textbooks in both years. We’ll also pay for your accommodation during your study weeks in year 2. Location: In the first academic year you will attend the University of the West England (UWE) based in Bristol. The location of your work placements either at the Environment Agency or local authority are based in various locations throughout England. You will need to highlight your preferred top three locations on your application form. You will also be expected to attend approximately four week-long residential study sessions in Bristol during the second academic year. Hours of work: In the first academic year you will study on a full-time basis at UWE, Bristol. After this you’ll join either an Environment Agency or local authority office on a full-time basis for the remaining time of up to 15 months. During this time you will be working three days a week on real flood risk management projects. For the remaining two days you will be expected to attend the office where you’ll study towards the course in conjunction with the University. On successful completion of the two year programme you will gain a Foundation Degree in River and Coastal Engineering.
