OUR STORY

In the sixties, C & H Welding was contracted to manufacture the very first aluminum portable cage based on a design from the hitting coach with the in Bradenton, FL. For over four decades and two generations our family has provided professional products to our industry. C & H Baseball has adapted, modified, manufactured and distributed portable batting cages and aluminum field equipment throughout the world. Since our company began C&H Baseball Facility, manufacturing sports equipment we have introduced five different styles of portable batting cages and multiple styles of fielding screens to meet the needs as well as budgets of professional, college, high school and junior programs as well as individuals. In the nineties, C & H Welding became known as C & H Baseball. C & H Baseball began to offer professional design/build, engineering and installation services. We have provided our services and products to as many as 400 stadium projects since 1996. C & H Baseball installed the first Spectra/Dyneema backstop at Turner Field in Atlanta bringing the first spectra/Dyneema netting backstop to the baseball industry working through the night by the lights of our trucks so that the team could have their completed C&H Baseball Lobby new stadium for the opening game the next day. Today, C & H Baseball continues that commitment to excellence. Our company has become the industry leader in stadium projects from engineering, design/build, design consultation, manufacturing products to the final step installation. We supply professional quality products either manufactured by our team or as dealer’s for other quality manufacturers. Our product line offerings include fielding screens, portable batting cages, netting, backstop netting systems, barrier netting systems, Batting tunnel structures, wall padding, equipment padding, and artificial turf. Cage frame padding is made from 1” Cage Frame Padding high density foam wrapped in an 18 oz. coated vinyl or laminated vinyl material with grommet strips on either side for attachment. Pads wrap securely around the cage and are laced or zip-tied together through the grommets. Many colors are available. ™ ™ Netting-Spectra /Dyneema Quick Release System C & H Baseball can provide ANY netting type for your required stadium application: Dyneema and Spectra are Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene or “UHMWPE” fibers. Dyneema is manufactured by DSM Dyneema, B.V.; and Spectra is manufactured by Honeywell International. These fibers are the strongest on the market today and have been used in our industry for over 19 years. This type of netting comes in knotted (most widely used today) and knotless versions. The most important factor is breaking strength at the location of use. C & H Baseball uses Dyneema netting manufactured in the USA. Dyneema #18 knotted with a twine thickness of 1.8mm is the number one netting currently installed in MLB and MiLB Ballparks. This thickness, 1.8mm or #18 gauge, is the only true proven netting material that lasts 6+ years in actual use. Batting Tunnel Support Structure Our support structure is a unique design using 2” schedule 40 galvanized steel poles and galvanized aircraft cable. The system is designed to minimize the number of support poles needed around the batting tunnel. This in turn reduces the opportunity for to ricochet off of the poles during batting practice, potentially injuring a player. These supports can be mounted onto a concrete slab, or installed in the ground.
