13 Women of Woodford

By the time you get this, Woodford will be sporting a new look. The Yarn Bombing done by WOW and friends is due to go up for August Bank Holiday weekend. Although it will mainly be displayed around The Green and the High St, don’t forget to go and look at the displays in Thrapston Road, Church Green and the church railings. Addington folk are very welcome to come and see what we have achieved during lockdown. Some of the displays are dedicated to the NHS and are a small thank you for all the hard work by done by NHS staff and all carers and key workers.

At a recent committee meeting is was decided that we would probably not run any meetings until next January, everything is too uncertain at present. Hopefully, we will all keep in touch with quizzes and perhaps an outside meet up, weather permitting. Due to the loss of meetings this year members who paid last year will receive a 50% cut in next year’s subscription. Any new members will be welcome at a cost of twenty nine pounds for the year.

Local produce charity table is off to a fabulous start at The Hare and Hounds

In July, Laura Mitchell and her team at The Hare & Hounds had the idea of an open table for surplus, locally grown produce. Take what you need and leave a donation for charity. A great way to cut down waste.

Recent offerings have included apples, plums and squashes. Chicken and duck eggs are proving very popular. All donated and grown by H&H regulars. Pop in and have a browse.

Contributions always welcome.
