Master took a seat in Sant Baljit Singh’s office chair and they shared a few moments of love and laughter. From time to time that day Master and Sant Baljit Singh, affectionately known as Sant Ji, conducted a few small meetings together. Both greeted the audience with folded hands. Master welcomed Sant Baljit Singh and invited him to sit down. Then Master gave a short satsang in which he introduced Sant Ji to the audience. Although Master has been ill and weak, he seems to become revived when on the dais. His February 6th satsang was short but powerful, and he gesticulated often to emphasize his discourse. 4 India News: Pimpalner Photo Story “Mission Accomplished” February 5-9, 2005 Following his satsang, Master stood up and approached Sant Baljit Singh, who greeted Master in the traditional and respectful Indian custom of touching his feet. Master then ceremoniously placed a scarf around Sant Ji’s neck, patted him on the head and hugged him. It was an emotional and highly charged moment. The audience wept openly and cheered. The entire event was beautifully executed, and the loving hand of God was felt by all. As Sant Ji returned to his seat, he was showered with rose petals from above. Following the introduction ceremony and Master’s satsang, Sant Ji gave a one-hour talk. During the satsang of Sant Ji, Master moved to his reclining chair and took rest. After some time, he was taken backstage where his medical team conducted a brief check-up. Master later said that the fresh air and sunshine helped to restore him from his fragile state that resulted from the long morning program. Towards the end of Sant Ji’s evening talk Master boarded the jeep at home and drove to the dais to pick up his successor. Master had promised his doctors and the program organizers that he would not go onto the stage in order to protect his precarious physical condition. Instead, when the jeep stopped at the dais, a wireless microphone was brought to Master. He then spoke a few words to the audience, as Sant Ji looked on from the dais. Afterwards, Sant Ji also boarded the jeep and they left the satsang tent together. As the jeep neared the exit, Master asked the driver to stop, and suddenly stood up and spread his arms wide and then touched his turban as the crowd cried out in an emotional farewell. It was a heartfelt ending to an incredible program. 7 India News: Pimpalner Photo Story “Mission Accomplished” February 5-9, 2005 Early in the morning on February 7th, Sant Baljit Singh Sant Baljit Singh greeted the people at the initiation prepared to leave for the satsang tent to conduct program. It was the first time in his life he had conducted initiation. Before departing, Sant Ji came to receive initiation into the inner light and sound. Regarding the simran he recommended that it should be said slowly in order to attune one’s self to the vibration contained in the charged words. Sant Ji walked down the aisle as the people practiced the light meditation. He personally attended to those people who experienced difficulties with the meditation. 9 India News: Pimpalner Photo Story “Mission Accomplished” February 5-9, 2005 For many hours on the afternoon and evening of the 7th, Sant Ji gave prashad and darshan to thousands of initiates. He stood in the living room of Master’s house while the initiates came in the front door to meet him and then exited out the back door. He met huge groups of workers in the kitchen, groups of initiates in the courtyard, and others in the garden area. Long lines of people stood for hours in the sun to meet Master’s successor. The previous day Sant Ji was told that there were many groups of people who wanted to see the Master, and Sant Ji was asked if any of them could receive his personal attention. He replied, “Bring as many as you can. I want to see as many as possible. I would even go to every village whether the jeep could make it or not. If not, I would walk.” He continued to work tirelessly late into the night, meeting with various groups and giving prashad and satsang to the masses of workers. Meanwhile, Master rested and enjoyed the sunshine and fresh air. Since he had spent a week in the hospital prior to his visit to Pimpalner, he was especially eager to sit outdoors whenever possible. His mood was cheerful and light. While Master was resting he asked one of his attendants, “What is that noise outside the wall?” The attendant replied, “Those are the initiates waiting to see Sant Ji.” Master laughed heartily and replied, “Oh good, I will enjoy my vacation.” 10 India News: Pimpalner Photo Story “Mission Accomplished” February 5-9, 2005 In the afternoon of the 7th, the film crew conducted an interview of Sant Thakar Singh to be aired on the internet. After the interview Sant Baljit Singh happened to come by and an impromptu photo session occurred. Master was in great spirits and Sant Ji was very affectionate and loving towards him. The result was an incredibly sweet photo shoot.
