Ne è la riprova il fatto che il Nuoto Club 91 Parma, dopo sole due settimane di riposo, vede già i suoi atleti impegnati nei primi allenamenti per prepararsi al meglio agli appuntamenti che più contano. All'orizzonte, vi sono i campionati Europei di Madrid in calendario per il mese di maggio ed in agosto nientemeno che le Olimpiadi di Atene. Per la società di Parma, che annovera nelle sue file atleti della nazionale assoluta e giovanile, quali Michele Scarica e Federico Bocchia, oltre ad altri atleti di livello nazionale e regionale, la stagione si presenta, dunque, colma di impegni che proviamo a sintetizzare ed analizzare col d.t. Andrea Avanzini. The underlying theme of this paper is to show how large-scale cluster analysis can be applied to discover the best pacing strategy and the optimum combination of race components that will help athletes achieve their best performance at each particular race distance, which may not be observed easily otherwise. Taking into consideration the dependence of the repeated measurements made over athletes’ entire race record times over each of the i-th laps, we report three main findings: Firstly, based on the resultant tree-like dendrograms from cluster analysis, we find that male and female swimmers may use similar patterns on stroke lengths in their races whereas the swimming speeds of males are generally somewhat faster. Secondly, we demonstrate a potential application of large-scale cluster analysis to find the optimum relationship between stroke length and swimming speed that will allow German national swimmer, Stefan Herbst, and French national swimmer, Amaury Leveaux to reproduce fast swims in the 200m freestyle race distance events. Thirdly, we demonstrate a potential application of large-scale cluster analysis to find the best pacing strategy that will allow British national swimmer, Paul Palmer, Australian national swimmer, Ian Thorpe, American national swimmer, Joshua Davis, Canadian national swimmer, Rick Say, Italian national swimmers, Emiliano Brembilla and Massimiliano Rosolino, to improve their times in the 200m freestyle race distance events.

NAPOLI Rosolino in festa: 20 anni dall'oro di Sydney Donato Martucci Massimiliano Rosolino , 42 anni, e l'oro di Sydney. Un giorno storico per il nuoto napoletano e italiano, che usciva da un lungo oblio. Un'impresa scolpita nella memoria che risale a 20 anni fa e che ricade proprio oggi, 21 settembre. Quel 2000 fu un anno storico per il campione nato a Napoli ma di mamma australiana, cresciuto nella Canottieri Napoli e poi formatosi alla Larus Nuoto. Un predestinato che sin da giovanissimo ha subito fatto vedere le sue doti. E, infatti, è arrivato ai vertici europei e mondiali nello stile libero, ma soprattutto nei misti. Nella sua Australia, ha scritto un vero e proprio capolavoro. Così ha voluto ricordare quell'impresa sui social Massimiliano Rosolino: 20 anni!!!! Anche quando ne passeranno 100 sara come quel giorno. Posto giusto, legato alle mie origini, energia giusta frutto di anni di duro lavoro ma soprattutto la felicita di riuscire a fare qualcosa che sognavo sin da piccolo e che ti rende orgoglioso ancora da grande!!!. Il bergamasco aveva nuotato 1’46”29 ai Campionati del Mondo di Roma 2009, strappando di soli 4 centesimi di secondo il record dell’altro bergamasco Marco Belotti (record durato solo quattro mesi dall’Aprile 2009). Prima di loro il primato italiano dei 200 risale ai Giochi Olimpici di Sydney 2000, in cui Massimiliano Rosolino nuotò 1’46”60. Ancor prima ci fuGiorgio Lamberti, che ai Campionati Europei di Bonn del 1989 nuotò un 1’46”69 che valse un record del mondo lungo 10 anni.
