Postat la ora 12:51, miercuri, 3 mai 2017 Primește postările pe mail MEP Siegfried Mureșan (EPP), chief negotiator of the European Parliament for the 2018 EU budget, has proposed the financing of a pilot project from the EU budget for next year, meant to counter the Adresa de email... Trimite Russian Federation's propaganda and disinformation actions. The pilot project aims at tackling propaganda in the press and social networks of the EU Member States and in the Eastern Partnership States, especially in the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia. The staff from the European Urmărește-mă pe Facebook Commission representations in the Member States as well as from EU delegations in the Eastern Partnership States, would be trained to monitor Russian propaganda and fake news, and coached to counteract disinformation actions. MEP Siegfried Mureșan has requested funding of 3 million euro Siegfried Muresan from the 2018 EU budget for this pilot project. 88 434 mentions J’aime “The pilot project aims at improving the way the European Commission and the European External Action Service (EEAS) delegations in Eastern Partnership States use their communication resources to respond to Russian propaganda efforts. For this purpose, the East Strategic Communications Task J’aime cette Page Inscription Force (East StratCom) was established inside the EEAS, focusing on three areas of work: improving the communication of EU policies towards the Eastern Partnership, strengthening the media Soyez le premier de vos amis à aimer ça. environment, and improving the EU's capacity to address disinformation. East StratCom has limited staff (10) and budget (EUR 200.000), and thus is not equipped to challenge a generously funded, wide- spread and audience-tailored disinformation campaign. Therefore, to enhance the EU outreach of addressing disinformation, strategic communications efforts should be tailored to national circumstances. The aim is to bring the Permanent Representations of the EU Commission in Member States and EEAS delegations to the level of expertise required to fully take advantage of the possibilities offered by social media to foster the development of a strategic communication campaign. The pilot project would fund comprehensive media monitoring across the region, including the use of big data. Apart from Eastern Partnership States, strategically vulnerable EU Member States Urmărește-mă pe Twitter (i.e. the Baltic states) and those states that are most predisposed to propaganda during particular periods of time (i.e. national elections), should be initially targeted by the project”, centre-right MEP Siegfried Mureșan argued. The pilot project is supported by several other MEPs: Michael Gahler, Eduard Kukan, Petri Sarvamaa and Inese Vaidere. 1 Categories: EU Budget, European Union Budget, press release, Republic of Moldova, Siegfried Muresan Pagina de pornire Postare mai veche 0 comments: Tweets by @SMuresan Trimiteţi un comentariu Siegfried Muresan @SMuresan Yesterday, I spoke in #Bucharest at the 25th anniversary of Cooperation Treaty between Introduceți comentariul dvs... #Germany & #Romania. #Europe Comentați ca: Unknown (Google) Deconectați-vă Publicați Previzualizați Anunță-mă 2h Siegfried Muresan @SMuresan Bemerkenswert, wie klar DE sozialdem. They long to know what the decision-makers are thinking, so they can plan ahead. They yearn to be in the loop, to have the drop on things. It is the genius of the lobbyists and the consultants to understand this need, and to satisfy it in the most imaginative way. Business forums are vehicles for forging links and maintain a dialogue with business, industrial and trade organisations. They allow the discussions of general and pre-legislative issues in a different context from lobbying contacts about specific matters. They provide an opportunity to get Members of the European Parliament and other decision-makers from the European institutions together with various business sectors.

European Parliament 2014-2019 Committee on Budgets 2017/0351(COD) 20.6.2018 OPINION of the Committee on Budgets for the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs on the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on establishing a framework for interoperability between EU information systems (borders and visa) and amending Council Decision 2004/512/EC, Regulation (EC) No 767/2008, Council Decision 2008/633/JHA, Regulation (EU) 2016/399 and Regulation (EU) 2017/2226 (COM(2017)0793 – C8-0002/2018 – 2017/0351(COD)) Rapporteur for opinion: Bernd Kölmel AD\1156513EN.docx PE616.791v02-00 EN United in diversity EN PA_Legam PE616.791v02-00 2/9 AD\1156513EN.docx EN SHORT JUSTIFICATION The rapporteur welcomes the two Commission proposals for a regulation for establishing a framework for interoperability between EU information systems adopted on 12 December 2017. Both proposals aim at overcoming structural shortcomings in the present EU information management architecture by making information systems interoperable, i.e. able to exchange data and share information. The rapporteur fully subscribes to their purpose, which is to ensure fast access to information, including by law enforcement authorities, to detect multiple identities and combat identity fraud, to facilitate identity checks of third- country nationals and to facilitate the prevention, investigation or prosecution of serious crime and terrorism. The present opinion concerns the proposal on borders and visa, which aims to regulate access to the Visa Information System, the Schengen Information System as currently regulated by Regulation (EC) No 1987/2006, the Entry-Exit System (EES) and the European Travel information and Authorisation System (ETIAS).

Brussels, April 19, 2018 Dear President Juncker, Dear Commissioner Timmermans, Dear Mr Magnier, Director of Creative Europe, We take note of the letter sent by PEN International and endorsed by 250 international authors1 expressing outrage at the behaviour of Jason Micallef, Chairman of Valletta 2018 Capital of Culture. We share the outrage expressed in this letter. The vilification of investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, even after her assassination, and the calls for the clearing of the memorial in her tribute in Valletta and for banners demanding for justice to be removed are actions that we consider incompatible with those of an official that represents the European Capital of Culture. It has been noted that merely hours after this PEN letter was published, Jason Micallef proceeded to continue with his outbursts on social media and ordered banners organised by Maltese civil society calling for justice to be removed. We strongly condemn these undignified and unacceptable actions and call on the European Commission to demand Mr Micallef be immediately removed from the post of Chairman of Valletta 2018 Capital of Culture.
