Aber das schien weit weg zu sein. Munter plante ich Geschäftsreisen fürs laufende Jahr, etwa zur E3 in Los Angeles, Anfang Juni. Zwei, drei Monate später darf ich froh sein, zumindest mit Heinrich Maske wieder in kleineren Läden einkaufen zu dürfen. Lenhardt Fernreisen? Vermutlich vor 2021 nicht mehr möglich. Auf die Erstellung dieser Retro-Gamer-Ausgabe hatte SARS- CoV-2 hingegen so gut wie keine Auswirkungen: Spielejournalisten können eigentlich überall dort arbeiten, wo man ihnen einen Bildschirm und eine Tastatur hinstellt. Nur das Editorialfoto aus der » Ein scharfes Edi-Foto gibt’s Retorte hat schon etwas damit zu tun, dass in Bayern die Friseure erst nach Verschwinden Jörg erst noch wieder aufmachen müssen und man bereits jetzt keine der „Corona-Frisur“. Langer Termine bis Mitte, Ende Mai mehr bekommt ... Demzufolge findet ihr eine prallvolle Ausgabe in gewohnter Dicke mit einer ganzen Wagenladung spannender Themen. Egal ob unsere Titelgeschichte Marble Madness, die Zelebrierung von Plattform-Star Mario (eine übrigens erfrischend doppeldeutige Bezeichnung) oder der große Report zur PC Engine Mini, es gibt viel zu schmökern. Und zwar für MS-DOS-Retro-Fans (Commandos, Heretic) ebenso wie für Homecomputer- Michael Hengst Liebhaber (Spectrum Next und viele andere) oder Konsoleros (Animal Crossings und Co.). Im Artikel Digitale Destinationen verreisen wir in berühmte Städte klassischer Spiele, und auch jedes Retro-Revival und jeder Klassiker-Check unserer Spieleveteranen wie Mick Schnelle oder Winnie Forster ist eine (Anekdoten-)Reise zurück in der Zeit. Besonders spannend finde ich persönlich dieses Mal denMagazin-Report Man!ac von Stephan Freundorfer: Er beleuchtet ein Stück deutscher Spielemagazin-Geschichte Mick aus der Sicht eines Insiders. Stephan war zwar 1993 nicht Gründungsmitglied, leitete Schnelle die Geschicke des Hefts aber Jahre später als Chefredakteur. Ich selbst kam erst ein Jahr nach den im Report geschilderten Ereignissen in die Branche, und zwar als verhätschelter Jungredakteur zum Tarifgehalt (bei PC Player). Wie viel nervenaufreibender und schwieriger muss es gewesen sein, aus eigener Kraft im eigenen Verlag ein neues Magazin hochzuziehen! Nochmal zurück zum Eingangsthema: Wir hoffen, dass unsere werten Leser bestmöglich Stephan Freundorfer durch die aktuelle Krise kommen – auch wenn sich dieser Wunsch für manchen wie Hohn anhören muss. Die Spielmechanik ist schnell verinnerlicht: Ähnlich den Mondlande-Spielen der 1970er ziehen Schwer- und Fliehkraft an dem fliegenden Vehikel, das durch Schubdü- sen punktgenau zu nummerierten Plattformen gelenkt werden möchte. Auf Knopfdruck klappt das Fahrgestell aus, das Taxi landet sicher und nimmt den Fahrgast auf – so er beim Anflug nicht zermatscht wird. Neben einem festen Fahrpreis wandert auch Trinkgeld aufs Punktekonto, das sich nach der Geschwindigkeit der Beförderung bemisst. Sind ein paar Aufträge erledigt, geht’s ab nach oben in den nächsten Level. Ett stokastiskt parametriskt kontextberoende L-system med hakparenteser har implementerats i en enkel testmiljö baserad på OpenGL (SGI 1997-2016), statisk mesh har implementerats i form av display list (SGI 1997-2016 kap. 5.4). Undersökningen har jämfört de två teknikerna baserat på renderingstid, minnesanvändning, och genereringstid av L- system, såväl som hur de båda teknikerna skalar med antal vertiser och L-systemslängd. Resultaten visar på att de L-systemsbaserade träden har längre renderingstid än de representerade med statisk mesh, utöver tid för att växa träden via L-systemet före var rendering. De L-systemsbaserade träden visade dock på lägre minnesanvändning än sin statiska motsvarighet. Resultaten visar även på att de tekniker som jämförts inte nödvändigtvis var optimalt implementerade, och arbetet avslutas med en diskussion om hur detta skulle kunna åtgärdas i framtida arbeten.
