It is a regional referral hospital providing specialized surgical and medical programs to 1.5 million people from Burnaby to Boston Bar, as well as a UBC-affiliated teaching hospital. We are looking to find physicians for two patient categories: Patients who are imminently (1 month) or actively (within days-few weeks) dying. Physicians will be needed within 24-48 hours, with a home visit likely required. Demand is low; however these unattached patients require a physician to assist in undertaking the following work for a short period of time: be placed on a list provided to the Palliative Care Resource Nurse and may be called Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm need to provide symptom management, EOL care, possible GOC conversation, medication and prescription review, and care plan Patients with life expectancy of 1 month or greater.
