Post-graduate level As member of the Committee which planned and organized the post-graduate MSc courses of the Department of Geography, Dr Sapountzaki contributed substantially in planning and actual operation of both courses of the post-graduate programme Applied Geography and Spatial Planning. In the period 2005-2009 she has been assigned the exclusive responsibility of the module “Vulnerability and Risk: Prevention and Preparedness” (compulsory module) and she has been co-responsible for the module “Local Sustainable Development and Spatial Planning” (optional module of the second course European Policies, Planning and Spatial Development). After election at the Associate Professor’s post (2009) Undergraduate level In the period 2009-2013 Dr Sapountzaki retained the exclusive responsibility of the compulsory modules “Regional Planning” (which replaced the “Urban and Regional Planning I”) and “Strategic and Local Spatial Planning” as well as the responsibility of the optional modules “Urban Sustainable Development” (which replaced the “Urban and Regional Planning II”) and “Management of Natural Disasters”. Post-graduate level In the period 2009-2013 she retained the exclusive responsibility of the module “Vulnerability and Risk: Prevention and Preparedness” (compulsory module) as well as co-responsibility for the module “Local Sustainable Development and Spatial Planning” (optional module of the course European Policies, Planning and Spatial Development). She has undertaken besides co- responsibility for a new module under the title “Codes, Regulations and Engineering Works versus Natural hazards”. After election at the Professor’s post (2014) Undergraduate and post-graduate levels In the period 2014-2017 Dr Sapountzaki retained the exclusive responsibility of the compulsory modules “Regional Planning” and “Strategic and Local Spatial Planning” as well as the responsibility of the optional modules “Urban Sustainable Development” and “Management of 4 Natural Disasters” of the undergraduate level. Similarly, she retained the teaching responsibility for the compulsory and optional post-graduate modules of the previous period. Tutoring of Diploma, MSc and PhD theses Dr Sapountzaki has tutored a large number of diploma theses, under- and post-graduate, and has been member of several evaluation committees for PhD theses at Harokopio and other Greek Universities (e.g. the National Technical University of Athens, University of Piraeus etc). 5.1 TEACHING AND LECTURES IN OTHER EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES In the academic year 2009-2010, in the context of ERASMUS MOBILITY FOR TEACHING ASSIGNMENT UNDER THE LIFELONG LEARNING PROGRAMME, Dr Sapountzaki was invited by the Technical University of Dortmund, School of Spatial Planning (Germany) to offer three lectures at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels, as follows: "Cross-border Territorial and Environmental Planning issues in the Balkan Region", in the context of the undergraduate module Planning in Urban and Metropolitan Regions. "Risks in the agenda of Spatial Planning: Examples from Developed and Developing Countries", in the context of the international biennial post-graduate (MSc) Programme SPRING (Spatial Planning for Regions in Growing Economies). "Spatial Planning in Greece", in the context of the undergraduate module Spatial Planning from an International Perspective. In the spring semester of the academic year 2010-2011, Dr. Sapountzaki was invited as visiting professor to contribute to the international MSc post-graduate Programme SPRING, School of Spatial Planning, Technical University of Dortmund (Germany).
