Virtual Information Sessions with Local Riding Candidates View as a web page Visit our website | Member Login Aug. 31, 2021 Virtual information sessions with local riding candidates Ottawa Branch volunteers and staff are working hard to ensure that local candidates are aware of critical seniors’ issues. We also want to give our members an opportunity to hear where candidates stand on these issues. As a result, the Ottawa Branch is collaborating with the Ottawa chapter of the Canadian Association of Retired Persons (CARP) and the Council on Aging of Ottawa to hold eight Virtual Information Sessions with Local Candidates – one in each Ottawa riding – that all our members can attend. Each session will last 60 minutes and be held via Zoom. Local candidates will have five minutes each to address these topics: • National seniors strategy with dedicated funding and accountability goals • Enforced principles and national standards for long-term care • Adequate funding for home care to improve health outcomes and reduce costs To register for the session in your electoral district, click on the district name below.     Public Registry of Designated Travellers In accordance with the Members By-law, a Member of the House of Commons may designate one person, other than the Member’s employee or another Member who is not the Member’s spouse, as their designated traveller. The Clerk of the House of Commons maintains the Public Registry of Designated Travellers. This list discloses each Member’s designated traveller. If a Member chooses not to have a designated traveller, that Member’s name does not appear on the Public Registry of Designated Travellers. The Registry may include former Members as it also contains the names of Members whose expenditures are reported in the Members’ Expenditures Report for the current fiscal year if they ceased to be a Member on or after April 1, 2015 (the start of the current fiscal year). Members are able to change their designated traveller once every 365 days, at the beginning of a new Parliament, or if the designated traveller dies. The Public Registry of Designated Travellers is updated on a quarterly basis. I understand that I need to be an Ontario resident to receive on-line telepsychology services from Dr. Tatiana Nedecheva. I understand that at times, videoconferencing may be one way to attend appointments when I cannot physically be present in my therapist’s office due to several factors, including but not limited to: travel outside the province, recovering from an illness and not being able to travel, lack of access to transportation to the office, when weather or public health advisories against travel are issued, etc. I understand there may be advantages and benefits to telepsychology. For example, telepsychology can reduce barriers to access, such as living in a remote community, mobility issues, and an inability to take time off work. It also reduces travel time. I understand there are also potential risks to using technology including interruptions to sessions and technical difficulties.
