The Cabinet appreciated Ajmi’s dedication and hard work and appointed Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Sabah as acting Islamic Affairs minister and State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah as acting jus- tice minister. Ajmi tendered his first resignation in early April following accusations by a US senior official that he had links with jihadists in Syria. The res- ignation was rejected by the Amir who renewed his trust in him. The Cabinet had also backed him. Writing on his Twitter account, Ajmi thanked the Amir for accepting the resignation and understanding his reasons.
