The Cabinet appreciated Ajmi’s dedication and hard work and appointed Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Sabah as acting Islamic Affairs minister and State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah as acting jus- tice minister. Ajmi tendered his first resignation in early April following accusations by a US senior official that he had links with jihadists in Syria. The res- ignation was rejected by the Amir who renewed his trust in him. The Cabinet had also backed him.
