Background and Qualifications 1. My name is John Strohm. Since 2017, I have been the President of Rounder Records. I am a 30-year veteran of the independent music community, including 10 years as a full- time working musician and another 10 as an artist-side lawyer. 2. I’m originally from Bloomington, Indiana. My love of music started young, and I grew up listening to a lot of great folk, blues, and jazz records (including a number of Rounder titles) with my dad. I began my music career playing drum set in Indiana’s punk rock scene. In 1985, when I was 18 years old, I left Indiana to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston. There, I switched my focus to the guitar and co-founded the alternative rock band Blake Babies with Juliana Hatfield and Freda Love. We released three full-length albums between 1987 and 1990, and toured in the U.S. and U.K. We later reunited in 2000 and our 2001 album God Bless the Blake Babies was released on the Rounder’s Zöe imprint.

The early 1990s marked a dramatic change in the gender balance. Not only did many female singer-songwriters emerge, but their artistic achievements generally ranked higher than those of the men. The emergence of the female auteur was partly a consequence of the riot-grrrls movement and partly a sign of a changing social and psychological landscape. The ladies had their own styles (plural). First of all, at the turn of the decade, an eccentric figure of lo-fi psychedelic storytellers emerged out of New York's underground lofts. Multi-instrumentalist Azalia Snail (12) devoted her career to enigmatic and arcane reconstructions of the hippie era. Snailbait (? 1988/?1989 - ? 1989) featured a parade of folk-psychedelic vocal impersonations as well as erratic guitar playing with no rhythm section, and peaked with a 23- minute collage of singing, distorted tapes, found noises and assorted turbulence, So Much More To Go. Burnt Sienna (? ? - ? 1992) indulged in psychedelic effects, amid distorted vocals and dissonant music, leading to the chaotic Fumarole Rising (? 1993 - ? 1993), the culmination of her program of disintegration of the pop song.

As hesays he was virtually illiterate until the age of 21 after which he learned to read usinge the bible and classical Christian literature to educate myself. Please take time to understand what he has written as he trying to communicate with you as to get proof readers to work for love is very difficult. Davis says he is sure all the New Testament writers, some of which were unlearned men, had the same difficulties. AUTHOR’S FOREWORD When I first published my story of conversion from Crime to Christ I thought every one would be delighted to hear all about it so I asked my boss the principal of Fareham College to write a foreword to my book. I was very disappointed, surprised and hurt at his answer. He said he would have nothing to do either privately or publicly with a book that overlay refers to drug taking. I understood he was a Christian and thought that he would have been delighted and pleased to hear my story and have it told to all the world. You see I had written all about my past criminal life as a youth, my imprisonment for violence and drug taking that led to my downfall.
