FROM MILAN MALPENSA TO STRESA By car Follow the signs for the A26 Genoa - Gravellona motorway. Take the A26 motorway in the direction of . Keep heading towards Gravellona Toce until the Carpugnino exit. At Carpugnino follow the signs for Stresa.

· By taxi The price varies according to the day and time.

· By bus From April to September take the Alibus shuttle for Stresa. The service has a timetable (6 journeys a day), but you need to book the day before.

· By train Stresa is situated on the line Milan-. Train tickets are available from official Trenitalia agents. There are 8 daily connections to Stresa, but you will need to change trains en route. From the airport’s Terminal 1 take the Malpensa Express and get off at Busto Arsi- zio RFI. Then take the train going to Domodossola and get-off at Stresa station.

FROM MILAN LINATE TO STRESA By bus / train take the shuttle for Milan’s Centrale station and carry on by train. By car follow the signs for the E62/A8 Varese-Malpensa motorway. Take the E62/A8 mo- torway in the direction of Gravellona Toce. Keep heading towards Gravellona Toce until the Carpugnino exit. At Carpugnino follow the signs for Stresa.

FROM MILAN ORIO AL SERIO TO STRESA Take the shuttle for Milan’s Centrale station and carry on by train. By car follow the signs for the A4/E64 Milano motorway and take it. Follow E62/A8 Varese- Malpensa motorway. Take the E62/A8 motorway in the direction of Gravellona Toce. Keep heading towards Gravellona Toce until the Carpugnino exit. A historic funicular (cable railway) takes you from Como to Brunate, where a wide panorama fans out over spectacular Lake Como.

Milano: Milan is an city of art with its own strong identity. It is the capital of industry, economy and international shopping. Considered as one of the most important examples of gothic architecture, the construction of the Duomo (Cathedral) began in 1386 under the initiative of Gian Galeazzo Visconti. La Scala Theatre is a true symbol of the city. Its sober, neoclassic facade hides an extraordi- nary hall featuring perfect acoustic and sumptuous interior furnishings. The Sforza Castle was constructed to defend the city in 1368 by the order of Galeazzo Vi- sconti. Today it is home to an important museum.
