Chief Warrant Officer Mathew C. Heffelfinger, 29, was one of two pilots who died from injuries received when the OH- 58D “Kiowa” helicopter they were piloting crashed on Sunday. Both Heffelfinger and 24-year-old Chief Warrant Officer Earl R. Scott, of Jacksonville, Fla., were assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 6th Cavalry Regiment, 25th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.
