Cleaning the home with broom at night is prohibited on other days, but on amavasya it is mandatory to do so before Lakshmi Puja. and is called alakshmi nissarana. Next comes completion of chaturmasa and tulasi puja. We should try to develop a sense of looking for the glory of Lord during all these festivities. -

Save yourself and the Nation by individual and collective austerity. Do not stand helpless before the global virus. Reinforce yourself and the Nation confidently. Here is the time-tested means, infallible for the discreet and faithful. 2. Laws enforced are effective only after the crime is done. But how to prevent crime or lessen its incidence and toll, for which material efforts are powerless? Try then at least the inner, mental, spiritual power and derive redress. 3. Body is a matter energy aggregate, inert. It is animated and activated by the mind. Mind, though not a part of the body, is associated with it. It has untold power over matter, like causing physical anger and also appeasing and eliminating it. 4. Use the mind’s power to resist the virus. Mind works on thoughts. All mantras are mental formulae, to be applied discreetly and tenaciously. 5. Recite mantra, to insulate you against all destruction. 6. “We appease Tryambaka, the Supreme Lord of Destruction. Liberate us from the bondage of disease and death, like the stem getting detached from the melon when the fruit has grown to the full. Relieve us from the clutches of death, destruction, and not from immortality.“ 7. Start with 108 times the mantra japa. Chant slowly, gently and attentively. 8. Increase it by 25 counts, reaching 500 and 1000 mark in a week or so. -

Stand up straight, arms by your sides and spread your feet about 4-6 inches apart. ii. Fix your eyes on any point in front of you, slightly above the level of the head, to help in maintaining balance. iii. With an inhalation (Radhey); interlock your fingers with palms facing upward, stretch the arms, shoulders, and thighs upwards as much as you can, and then expand the chest to your ability. iv. Simultaneously, raise your heels and try to stand on the toes. v. Maintain this position for 15-20 seconds with normal breathing. vi. Then, with an exhalation (Shyam), gradually lower the heels; bring down the hands. Benefits: Tadasan brings about exceptional stretching and loosening of the spine, which help clear the congestion of the spinal nerves. It helps develop physical and mental balance. The stretching of the intestinal and digestive systems makes them healthier. It is also useful during the first six months of pregnancy to keep the abdominal muscles and nerves toned up well.
