Difficile néanmoins d’oublier les douze mois qui viennent de s’écouler. L’année 2008 dégage une saveur particulière que l’on ne se privera pas d’apprécier à nouveau. Pour la première fois de son histoire, la Fédération Française de Natation compte dans ses rangs un champion olympique du 100 m nage libre (Alain Bernard). Pour la première fois égale- ment, La Fédération de natation dispose d’un relais vice- champion olympique (le 4x100 m nage libre) ainsi qu’un nageur triple médaillé sur deux olympiades (Hugues Duboscq). Après l’éclosion de notre discipline aux Jeux Olympiques d’Athènes en 2004, il fallait confirmer. En Chine, nos champions, notre équipe et l’ensemble des services fédé- raux ont mis leur savoir-faire au service d’un objectif : triompher à nouveau et installer définitivement notre sport Ph. DPPI dans le paysage national.
