    Notification of the Central Committee on the Price of Goods and Services No. 4, B.E. 2560 (2017) Regarding Control of Transport of Paddy, Rice ------------------------------------ Whereas the Central Committee on the Price of Goods and Services has repealed the Notification of the Central Committee on the Price of Goods and Services No. 1, B.E. 2559 (2016) regarding Determination of Goods and Services under Control dated 21 January B.E. 2559 ( 2016) , resulting in the end of enforcement of the Notification of the Central Committee on the Price of Goods and Services No. 4, B.E. 2559 (2016) regarding Control of Transport of Paddy, Rice dated 25 January B.E. 2559 (2016). In the meantime, the Central Committee on the Price of Goods and Services has already reconsidered the exercise of its power regarding the stipulation of the aforesaid measure, it is of the view that the measure of the control of transport of paddy, rice should be maintained in order to bring about the fairness of price, quantity and the maintenance of stability of the rice market system within the Kingdom. By virtue of Section 9 (2) and Section 25 (4), (7) of the Price of Goods and Services Act, B.E. 2542 ( 1999) , the Central Committee on the Price of Goods and Services has therefore issued this Notification, as follows.     Recapturing the Biodiversity of Communities through ‘People’s Stories’ - Environmental Education Activities in Thailand and Laos - A project briefer by Mekong Watch July 2018 Introduction: Background to the Project Mekong Watch envisions a Mekong Region in which “its people enjoy the region's natural environments and sustain lifestyles that are rooted in the integrity of their environments, without becoming victims to the harmful impacts of destructive development.”1 Unfortunately, the reality is the opposite. The region’s environments are rapidly deteriorating. More locations on both Mekong mainstream and tributaries are blocked by hydropower dams. More forests are replaced by industrial plantations. More land is turning into economic zones and sites to extract natural resources. Destructive development is making it more difficult for people in Mekong to lead a sustainable life. We have been trying to challenge this disturbing trend on two fronts. One, we analyze destructive development and argue that it does not comply with safeguard standards which are built upon global and the region’s development experiences. We have proposed to reconsider or reorient a number of development projects to ensure that they will not harm the Mekong’s environments and its people. We have also advocated for the improvement of protective measures and procedures when they are weak and outdated. Two, we also try to gain a better understanding over how deeply people’s lives are rooted in the Mekong’s environments. Without such an understanding, it is hard to recognize how development may affect or benefit people. Most importantly, people’s lives in the region are linked with their environments not simply in economic and other tangible terms but in a much more in-depth manner.

Range extensions for Cyrtodactylus auribalteatus, C. erythrops and C. papilionoides are given. The majority of these geckos have a very restricted geographical distribution and many new species remain to be found and described. Cave explorers can play an important role in helping to populate the inventory of cave geckos. Received: 20 June 2011; Accepted: 18 January 2012 There are approximately one hundred and twenty species of Cyrtodactylus bent-toed geckos (Reptilia: Squamata: Gekkonidae), of which roughly half have been described during the last ten years. Most of these newly described species are from southeast Asia and many are associated with karst and caves (Bauer et al., 2010). In 2002 thirteen species of Cyrtodactylus were recognized in Thailand (Bauer et al., 2002) and since then a further six species have been described, mainly from limestone caves, bringing the number of species in Thailand to nineteen (Bauer et al., 2010).

Approved: December 28th 2020. Published: December 31st 2020 ABSTRACT Environmental condition is very important for the Dengue Fever Prevention. People in this area lacked the knowl- edge, awareness of an environmental condition. To achieve sustainable control of the occurrence of dengue fever, therefore, this mixed methodology research was performed: 1) to gather general information related to the com- munity environment for dengue fever prevention, 2) to develop a paradigm for dengue fever prevention, and 3) to compare the levels of knowledge, attitude, and community participation after attending a training course on den- gue fever prevention. The gathering general information related to the community environment for dengue fever prevention was performed by survey method, 341 participants were recruited by using the Taro Yamane formula and stratified random sampling, subsequently, the model was developed for training. After that, the training and evaluation were implemented. Thirty-two volunteers participated in the training on dengue fever prevention. The testing instruments consisted of Knowledge Test Form, Attitude Test Form, and Dengue Prevention Participa- tory Test Form. The results indicated that the dengue fever prevention paradigm was supported by the following six factors: 1) having reliable data, 2) providing training on disease prevention, 3) having competent agents, 4) presenting the dengue prevention system to the community, 5) having people participation, and 6) having envi- ronmental management.

On December 12-13, Cabinet Ministers and I visited Bueng Kan and Nong Khai and held a cabinet meeting there. Both provinces are home to several farm products such as rice, sugarcane, cassava, and rubber. In addition, these two provinces are rich in natural resources and cultures, capable of becoming eco- and historical tourism destinations as well as world heritage and the land of pilgrimage. Both provinces border Thailand’s neighboring nations with the Mekong River serving as the main gateway. Therefore, (the Government) aims to develop the upper northern region to be destination for leading agro-industry, trade, tourism, and sustainable communities, with focuses on 1) becoming a gateway to our neighboring countries, 2) becoming eco-tourism Mekong-style attractions, and 3) becoming a center for border trade and investment. Bueng Kan province has several model projects underway. One notable project is mobile health services in remote districts of the province, offering basic medical needs such as dental services, eye exams, mental health services, career training, and other forms of services based on local demands. Bueng Kan is the first city to be introduced to the campaign, starting from the second and third weeks of December onwards.

  • The Tonal Comparative Method: Tai Tone in Historical Perspective
    Abstract The Tonal Comparative Method: Tai Tone in Historical Perspective Rikker Dockum 2019 To date, the majority of attention given to sound change in lexical tone has focused on how an atonal language becomes tonal and on early stage tone development, a process known as tonogenesis. Lexical tone here refers to the systematic and obligatory variation of prosodic acoustic cues, primarily pitch height and contour, to encode contrastive lexical meaning. Perhaps the most crucial insight to date in accounting for tonogenesis is that lexically contrastive tone, a suprasegmental feature, is bom from segmental origins. What remains less studied and more poorly understood is how tone changes after it is well established in a language or language family. In the centuries following tonogenesis, tones continue to undergo splits, mergers, and random drift, both in their phonetic realization and in the phonemic categories that underlie those surface tones. How to incorporate this knowledge into such historical linguistic tasks as reconstmction, subgrouping, and language classification in a generally applicable fashion has remained elusive. The idea of reconstmcting tone, and the use of tonal evidence for language classifi­ cation, is not new. However, the predominant conventional wisdom has long been that tone is impenetrable by the traditional Comparative Method. This dissertation presents a new methodological approach to sound change in lexical tone for languages where tone is already firmly established. The Tonal Comparative Method is an extension of the logic of the traditional Comparative Method, and is a method for incorporating tonal evidence into historical analyses in a manner consistent with the first principles of the longstanding Comparative Method.

CBD’s parties are required to submit the National Report in accordance with the Convention’s objectives (Article 26 of the CBD). Thailand’s Sixth National Report covers the period of January 2015 to December 2018 and aligns with the agreed reporting guidelines of the CBD. We hope this report can contribute to the development of the Global Biodiversity Outlook and the Post 2020 Global Biodiversity Framework. Thailand will continue to take concrete steps to protect its biodiversity, the unique natural heritage, and precious ecosystems, for the next generations. All Thais – including all levels of government, the public, private, local stakeholders and non-government organizations are responsible for biodiversity conservation. 1 Preface Thailand’s Sixth National Report (6NR) is one of the obligations under the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
