Världens bästa fotbollsspelare, brasilianska Marta Vieira da Silva, fanns i truppen och Tyresövallen rustades upp med ny belysning, utökad läktarkapacitet och konstgräs. Andra storspelare i laget var svenska mittfältaren Caroline Seger, amerikanska backen Meghan Klingenberg och spanska anfallaren Verónica Boquete. Laget drevs som ett aktiebolag vid sidan av föreningen som bildades 1971. Under 2014 visade det sig att klubben hade ekonomiska problem och miljonskulder och Tyresö fotboll AB försattes efter många turer i konkurs av Nacka tingsrätt.
