SSEECC 6th NATIONAL CONFERENCE with international participation and exhibition Common-sense strategies and policies – EE and RES solutions for energy independence, competitive prices and exit from the crisis November 25 – 26, 2010, Novotel Plovdiv The conference The conference will focus on the plans, projects, results and best practices in the field of EE & RES, implemented by Bulgarian and European municipalities in the framework of the Covenant of Mayors and innovative NGOs and companies as well. The conference will include expert presentations, best practices examples, and interactive discussions among participants. The aims of the The conference is aimed at integrating the abilities of the participants in the following conference fields: New policies and legislation in the field of EE & RES; Sustainable local and regional energy development and the role of the Covenant of Mayors; Successful European models for bioregions and projects for bioenergy on the local level; Integrated projects for EE & RES in buildings; Innovative projects of energy agencies and municipalities. The agencies are non-governmental organisations providing expert energy-related services to a wide range of clients, including municipalities and private firms. BioRegions organises its stakeholder workshop within the conference, consisting of Panel I and Panel II. The project supports five rural areas in Europe in their effort to secure 1/3 of their energy needs from local biomass. In Bulgaria we are working with the region of Sredna Gora Mountains (Panagurishte, Strelcha, Hissar, Brezovo, Karlovo, Ihtiman).
