2010-06-30 17:45 CEST Brandon Flowers soloalbum ute den 8:e september! “We’re caught up in the crossfire, of heaven and hell And we’re searchin for shelter Lay your body down, lay your body down, lay your body down...” (“Crossfire” by Brandon Flowers) The Killers’ Brandon Flowers will release his debut solo album, entitled Flamingo, on September 8th, 2010 on Island Records/Universal Music. Produced by Stuart Price, Daniel Lanois, and Brendan O’Brien and featuring guest vocals by Jenny Lewis, Flamingo is a brilliant collection from an artist whose voice and songwriting prowess have left an indelible mark on the music world. The album’s infectious first single, “Crossfire,” is a rousing, epic rocker, and is available to hear now on Flowers’ website – http://www.brandonflowersmusic.com, at radio now and available on iTunes for digital download. Inextricably tied to Las Vegas in both showmanship and ideology,Flamingo is packed full of sparkling, stadium-ready songs that run the gamut from expert pop executions and forlorn electro dirges to gospel tunes and even blues- tinged rock. Brandon’s solo project comes in the wake of The Killers’ hiatus, a well-earned sabbatical after seven straight years of hard work. After signing with Island in 2003, they debuted with the 5 million-selling debut Hot Fuss (June 2004). It was the longest-running rock album inside the top 50 on the Billboard 200 albums chart for all of 2005, logging 94 weeks on the chart – 53 of those inside the Top 50. The album spun off four solid hit singles – the Grammy- nominated “Somebody Told Me,” the VMA-winning (and Grammy-nominated) “Mr. Brightside,” the Modern rock hit “Smile Like You Mean It,”and Grammy- nominated “All These Things That I’ve Done.” The Killers’ RIAA platinum second album Sam’s Town (October 2006) contained the #1 Modern Rock hit “When You Were Young,” nominated for Grammy Awards for Best Rock Song and Best Short Form Music Video; and “Read My Mind,” the band’s first #1 at Triple-A. It was followed by Sawdust (November 2007), a 17-song collection of previously unreleased session tracks, B-sides, rarities and one-offs. Day & Age came one year later (November 2008), their worldwide multi-platinum fourth album. With four single releases – “Human,” “Spaceman,” “The World We Live In,” and “A Dustland Fairytale, the album has amassed global sales of more than 3 million units. Most recently in November 2009 came Live From The Royal Albert Hall, The Killers’ first official DVD release, a spectacular 22-song live concert experience – filmed in HD (with ‘Fan's Eye View’ alternative camera angle) and full 5.1 sound. The package, with bonus live performances on the DVD plus an 18-song live CD from the shows (mastered by Price, and unavailable elsewhere), featured songs that cut across all four of the Killers’ album releases. www.BrandonFlowersMusic.com Universal Music är Sveriges och världens ledande musikbolag med representation i hela 71 länder.
