It’s an incredibly exciting time to be part of this organization. CFRE International’s forward momentum has been growing year-over-year as we continue to be the leading source for confidence, ethics, and professionalism in fundraising globally. I’m proud to say 2018 was extraordinary. It was a banner year in so many ways. We had the highest number of initial applications, 930 in total, in a single year, which speaks to the growing value and awareness of CFRE. In October, we launched a refreshed brand that included a new, more vibrant logo. The new logo conveys achievement, growth, and operating from the highest standards of professionalism and ethics. Our new tagline also debuted: Confidence, ethics, and professionalism in fundraising. The refreshed brand will serve us well as we continue to grow CFRE’s profile in more countries and connect with fundraising professionals earlier in their careers. To better support fundraising professionals on their CFRE journey, we also launched an updated website in 2018, making information easier to find overall while putting our various studying resources front-and-center. It was also the year we launched our webinar series. Across all 10 webinars we offered, we had more than 1,500 registrations and plenty of positive feedback. The webinars walked attendees through the CFRE process and exam in an easy-to-follow format. Ultimately, the webinars helped grow the confidence of future CFREs so that they can feel prepared to complete their application and sit for the CFRE Exam. Building upon their success, we will continue to offer webinars in future years. At the end of 2018, there were more than 6,400 CFREs in 25 countries. This is a massive achievement and a testament that the CFRE is a truly global certification promoting standards across the world. We also saw 2018 as a year of making fantastic connections. We know that there is no better source than current CFREs for learning how becoming a CFRE can impact your career. Our CFRE Ambassador Program kicked off in 2018. Thirty CFRE Ambassadors across four continents were matched with future CFREs and shared their advice about how becoming a CFRE had impacted their career. Our CFRE Ambassadors also spoke at a variety of trainings and conferences to further get the word out about the benefits of becoming a CFRE. Looking ahead, our Ambassadors will continue to be a fantastic resource for future CFREs and we look forward to expanding the number of Ambassadors in the program. While 2018 was full of new initiatives and exciting steps forward, I know more amazing things are in store for CFRE. Whether you’re a current, past, or future CFRE, I thank you for your commitment to fundraising professionalism and ethics. Let’s move ahead and continue serving our donors, beneficiaries, communities, and causes. All the best, Heather R.
