A Word from Father Gerry

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

JUBILEE YEAR “Grateful for the past – Faithful in the present – Hopeful for the future” Though our plans for observing our parish’s 150th Jubilee Year have been scaled back, we want to commem- orate the year as much as we can. Here’s what the Jubilee Committee has planned: Dedication of Jubilee Park Saturday, August 15 following 5 pm Mass Including a picnic dinner if COVID precautions relax enough to allow it – please make reservations for the dinner – just in case. Jubilee Edition of Parish Directory will be distributed sometime in August Jubilee Mass Sunday, September 27 at 11:3o am. Our parish picnic will follow the Mass, if COVID precautions relax enough to permit it. Evening of Reflection– Power of Forgiveness Wednesday, September 30

I hope you’ll mark the celebration dates on your calendar and plan participate as much as you are able.

DIOCESAN PARISH ANNUAL APPEAL The DPAA is the most direct and effective way for parishes to help the services and ministries of outreach to the poor, emotionally wounded and the disadvantaged who live within the Diocese of Covington. As members of the Body of Christ we have a unity with the needy to do what we can to alleviate some of their suffer- ing.

The DPAA also helps parishes through the rebate program. Every dollar received from the parish over our share of the DPAA goal of $102,400 will be rebated back to the parish. Our parish rebate project is to make repairs to our 60 year old pipe organ. Simply put, 35 – 40% of the organ is inoperable and it gets worse every month.

The cost of these repairs is expected to be about $150,000. Last year’s DPAA rebate totaled $35,577. We will continue to set aside DPAA rebates for repairs to the pipe organ until repairs have been substantially accom- plished.

THANK YOU to all who have already contributed to the good works accomplished through the DPAA. If you have not yet made your contribution, please do what you can. Checks should be made payable to DPAA 2020 and sent directly to the Diocese or parish office or placed in the Sunday collection.

Your pastor and brother in Christ,

Fr. Gerry Reinersman
