For this ninth and final edition in the form we know before the move to Plateforme 10, the Musée de l’Elysée offers a quality program with two thirds of the projects presented celebrating women’s artistic creativity and diversity. "Artists from all walks of life echo voices from near and far, reflecting ordinary and extraordinary lives. Everyone has a story, and it is a pleasure to invite you to come and listen and see them all, bravely joining us to examine the world from both ends of the spyglass!"notes Tatyana Franck, director of the Musée de l’Elysée. And Pauline Martin, curator of the Nuit des images, adds: "It is a fact that the Nuit des image wishes to highlight: women – photographic authors and subjects – make a crucial contribution to artistic creation. Even more visibly than in other years, they copiously nourish this year’s event." Special previews at the Nuit des images Sarah Moon and Shirin Neshat, two internationally renowned photographers, present two world premiere projects: Les Jours d'après (2019), a letter from the French photographer to her deceased husband, and Looking for Oum Kulthum (2019), an installation combining photographs and videos developed by the Iranian artist, who will be on stage to tell us about the multidisciplinary way in which she has approached this project. In situ performance After the success of the exhibition Liu Bolin. The Theater of Appearances, the chameleon artist is back at the Musée de l'Elysée for a new performance. Accompanied by about twenty people posing, Liu Bolin will disappear in a setting created especially for the event. Announcement of the winner of the 3rd edition of the Prix Elysée, with the support of Parmigiani Fleurier Designated by an international jury among eight nominees - Laia Abril, Mathieu Asselin, Claude Baechtold, Alexandra Catière, Alinka Echeverría, Gregory Halpern, Nicola Lo Calzo and Luis Carlos Tovar - the winner will be announced at 10:30 pm. "6 Mois" on stage Women's views of the world, a man's view about a little woman: a live performance on stage with photographers who tell the making of, the backstage of their stories. Courtesy Noirmontartproduction, Paris © Stéphanie Gengotti Nuit des images 2019 Elysée Lausanne Press release 3/3 Femme, genre et sport Announcing the Youth Olympic Games to be held in Lausanne in January 2020, the Musée de l’Elysée is partnering with the Olympic Museum in a project focusing on photography and the theme of "women, gender and sport". HERstory is an interactive workshop that invites the public to reflect on photography and to engage in dialogue with key figures in women’s sport, sport photography and museums about women’s place in sport. Parallel to HERstory, a sparkling performance of La Flamme une performance éclatée du spectacle La flamme lead visitors to the temporary exhibition presented at The Olympic Museum to discover the stories of some remarkable women. Fun and memorable activities for families to enjoy Animations have been designed to enjoy the Nuit des images with the whole family. The Musée de l'Elysée invites its visitors to take a shower of diverse and varied objects! Une pluie de.... will fall on the Nuit des images, and the photographer Giona Mottura will be there to immortalize the scene, so that each and every one can leave with his or her shot. Also discover Le jeu des dix familles, a proposal of the Passerelle Culturelle where the public are invited to invent stories based on images from family albums in the museum's collections.
