You may register to vote and request an official absentee ballot by using the Federal Postcard Application (FPCA) available at www.votespa.com or www.fvap.gov. You may apply for an absentee ballot by submitting your FPCA by e-mail to [email protected] or by fax to 724-662-1530. You may request an absentee ballot from this office at any time prior to a primary or election. If time does not permit you to receive and return an official absentee ballot, however, you are also entitled to vote using the Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot (FWAB). Military electors may also use the FWAB to register to vote and vote simultaneously. You may use the FWAB to vote for a candidate for Representative in Congress (U.S. Representative), as well as candidates for all state and local offices and ballot questions. To vote, refer to page 3 of the FWAB. To vote for Congress, write in the name of the candidate of your choice in the space provided on the FWAB. To vote for state and local offices or for ballot questions, write the names of candidates or ballot initiatives in the Addendum section of the FWAB. Under the Office/Ballot Initiative heading, enter the office the candidate is running for or the title of the ballot initiative.     News April 22, 2021 Quarterly Cannabis Report The 117th Congress is shaping up to be the year for cannabis reform. As of April 2021, 47 states, four U.S. territories and the District of Columbia have legalized medical cannabis, recreational cannabis or both. Many of these efforts can be contributed to Steve Fox, a true pioneer of the legalization movement. Fox, managing partner of VS Strategies, and godfather of the industry, paved the path for nationwide legalization efforts and was instrumental in cannabis reform throughout the country for decades. He was one of the first to politically advocate on behalf of medical and recreational cannabis legalization, advance decriminalization measures and promote reform and social justice. As an educator and leader, Fox will be remembered for his wisdom, knowledge and kindness, and his voice, perspective and presence will be dearly missed. VS Strategies welcome the celebration of Fox’s life through the sharing of thoughts and memories, and asks for respect and privacy for his family, friends and co-workers who are still reeling from this loss. Prior to entering public service, he worked as a youth pastor at Albertville’s Grace Fellowship Church and was a co-founder of Dream Ranch, one of the most recognized hunting and fishing lodges in the United States. He currently operates the annual Tennessee Valley Hunting and Fishing Expo, which draws more than 20,000 attendees each year. In 2014, Lt. Gov. Ainsworth felt the call to serve his community through elected office and won a seat in the Alabama House of Representatives, where he was a champion of public education, farming, and family values issues. Keeping a self-imposed legislative term limit promise, Ainsworth declared his candidacy for lieutenant governor in 2018 and received the most votes of any candidate for constitutional office on the general election ballot. Ainsworth, who is committed to providing quality public education to Alabama’s schoolchildren, is a strong supporter of the state’s nationally-recognized “First Class” prekindergarten program, which provides young learners with the skills and foundational knowledge necessary to excel in their K – 12 education. Focusing his efforts as lieutenant governor on improving workforce development so that Alabamians may fill and retain long-lasting, well-paying, 21st Century jobs, he also works to promote policies that allow both new and existing industries to expand in Alabama. Ainsworth was elected as national chairman of the Aerospace States Association and is a member of the Alabama Workforce Council. He also heads the Lieutenant Governor’s Small Business Commission and the Lieutenant Governor’s Commission on a 21st Century Workforce.
