Signatech Alpine Already Preparing for the 20192020 Fia World Endurance Championship PRESS RELEASE 14062019 SIGNATECH ALPINE ALREADY PREPARING FOR THE 20192020 FIA WORLD ENDURANCE CHAMPIONSHIP • The first entry list for the 20192020 FIA World Endurance Championship has been released at Le Mans. • André Negrão will remain with the team that will race under the name of Signatech Alpine Elf. • Up and coming French driver Thomas Laurent will join the n°36 Alpine A470 driver lineup. • Pierre Thiriet is on pole position to complete the trio. Held during the 24 Hours of Le Mans week, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest press conference revealed the provisional entry list of teams entered for the 20192020 FIA World Endurance Championship. As previously announced, the Signatech Alpine team will continue its LMP2 programme with the Alpine A470 still carrying its number 36. André Negrão will return for a third season with the Phillippe Sinault run team. In his first year with the French squad in 2017, the Brazilian finished on the podium in the 24 Hours of Le Mans as well as at the Nürburgring, in Mexico, at Fuji and in Shanghai while winning class honours at the Circuit of the Americas. He then went on to take seven successive top three results, including a victory in the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans with Pierre Thiriet and Nicolas Lapierre. Nicolas Lapierre has chosen to take on new challenges and the entire Signatech Alpine Matmut team would like to thank him for a fantastic fouryear adventure that led to the world title in 2016 as well as six victories, including the 2016 and 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans, and 19 podium finishes ahead of the last round of the 20182019 SuperSeason. The team has chosen to replace him with the very promising 21yearold Thomas Laurent. Since his debut in 2015, Thomas Laurent has proven to be an Endurance natural. After winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans support race Road to Le Mans in 2016, he battled for the victory in the French classic a year later. While his LMP2 barely lost out to a Porsche LMP1, he won the Jean Rondeau award given to the best rookie in 2017. He then continued his progression in the top tier category and it wasn’t long before he enjoyed more success. In his third start, he took his maiden overall win in the 6 Hours of Silverstone last August. The name of the third driver will be announced in the weeks to come, but Pierre Thiriet and Signatech Alpine have expressed their common desire to extend their adventure next season. Philippe Sinault, Team principal Signatech Alpine We are very happy to continue on in the FIA World Endurance Championship with a driver lineup that promises to be competitive and coherent. We know Andre very well and the desire to continue the adventure together was announced quite early and naturally. This same desire encourages us to extend our relationship with Pierre. Nicolas has chosen to take on a new challenge and it is never easy to replace a driver of his stature who brought so much to the team and to Alpine, and vice versa. We are going our separate ways with the satisfaction of a job welldone and with many memories and emotions. Thomas Laurent is the future. We have been following him for a long time since we gave him his first opportunity to drive an LMP2 car in 2016. The opportunity to work together came about and we are delighted to have the best French Endurance hopeful with the same state of mind, the same desire and the same lineage that we have built with Nicolas in recent years. This was an obvious choice for us and Thomas is showing a lot of confidence in us in joining the team for the next stage of his career. 20192020 FIA World Endurance Championship calendar July 2324, 2019: Prologue – Circuit de BarcelonaCatalunya (Spain) September 1, 2019: 4 Hours of Silverstone (Great Britain) October 6, 2019: 6 Hours of Fuji (Japan) November 10, 2019: 4 Hours of Shanghai (China) December 14, 2019: 8 Hours of Bahrain (Bahrain) February 1, 2020: 6 Hours of São Paulo (Brazil) March 20, 2020: 1000 Miles of Sebring (United States) May 2, 2020: Total 6 Hours of SpaFrancorchamps (Belgium) June 1314, 2020: 24 Hours of Le Mans (France) For More Information: Christophe DEVILLE Motorsport Communications campaign Manager +33 (0)1 76 84 64 83 GROUPE RENAULT PRESS OFFICE Tel.: +33 (0)1 76 84 63 36 [email protected] Websites: www.media.renault.com www.group.renault.com Follow us on Twitter : @Groupe_Renault PRESS RELEASE 14062019 SIGNATECH ALPINE ALREADY PREPARING FOR THE 20192020 FIA WORLD ENDURANCE CHAMPIONSHIP • The first entry list for the 20192020 FIA World Endurance Championship has been released at Le Mans. • André Negrão will remain with the team that will race under the name of Signatech Alpine Elf. • Up and coming French driver Thomas Laurent will join the n°36 Alpine A470 driver lineup. • Pierre Thiriet is on pole position to complete the trio. B Page 1 of 27 EDITORSPEAK … email Trevor [email protected] Well, they have been and gone and done it. Auckland Transport have announced they will introduce sweeping changes to speed limits as they signalled some time ago. As I have commented before their rationale is that “inappropriate speed” contributes to 20% of deaths and serious injuries in the Super City. So, from June next year the CBD will be saddled with a blanket 30 kph speed limit, and many of the Franklin and Rodney rural roads will reduce from 100 kph to 80 or 60 kph. A record 11722 submissions were received, of which 2503 were in support, 3317 against and the balance had no firm stance. I could point out that 80% of deaths and injuries have no connection with inappropriate speed. I could surmise that the decision largely flies in the face of public opinion. I could wish them luck in getting public buy-in and compliance. I could question how a major regulatory constraint on all rate payers can be decided by unelected bureaucrats rather than the Council. But frankly, why bother? They are Council Controlled Organisation but seem to have an independence that suggests no Council control exists. I sincerely hope I am proved wrong, but I foresee very little change to the accident statistics and very little adherence to the new limits. Enough said... I have been following the MotoGP with interest this season (yes, I know they are missing 2 wheels) and it’s been well worth it. With World Champion Marc Marquez being given a curry up by the rookie Quartararo, privateer teams often out-performing the factory teams and some scintillating racing it has been great to watch.

Tung, driving the No. 38 car for the Jackie Chan DC race team, placed second overall and first in the LMP2 class at the 85th running of Le Mans earlier this month. Mouser has been a strong supporter of Tung since 2011 as he challenged himself to cross over in various motorsports, including the IndyCar Series and the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia. The global distributor is once again participating in the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship season. Racing is all about speed and endurance, and racing sponsorships are an innovative way for Mouser to communicate its performance-driven business model and promote the newest technologies from its manufacturer partners. The famed 24 Hours of Le Mans, which took place on June 17–18 in Le Mans, France, is the world’s oldest active car endurance race. It was a historic day for actor and stuntman Jackie Chan, who saw both cars in his racing team take the podium. Within the space of three weeks, sports car fans have been thrilled by the lead in the manufacturers’ championship changing twice. Following two one-two victories in succession, Audi had taken the top spot in the standings at the season’s midpoint. Although the brand had to relinquish its lead in the race in Japan, it remains in striking distance of the leader of the standings. Now the World Championship decision is coming to a head, as the sixth of eight WEC races is on the agenda at Shanghai on November 2. The brand with the four rings is separated by merely eight points from leader of the standings Toyota in the manufacturers’ classification, while the brand’s advantage over the third-placed brand, Porsche, is 66 points. A total of 132 points are yet to be awarded until the finale. The WEC round in China has special significance for Audi for several reasons. The track is regarded as very challenging, the team achieved victory there last year, and the ‘Middle Kingdom’ has evolved into the largest sales market for AUDI AG. In China, the company delivered 415,704 automobiles between January and September – 16 percent more than a year ago.

  • Porsche and Michelin Clinch the Season's FIA WEC Drivers' Crown
MEDIA INFORMATION November 21, 2015 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) 6 Hours of Bahrain Porsche and Michelin clinch the season’s FIA WEC Drivers’ crown and LM GTE Cups in Bahrain to add to their 2015 Manufacturers’ title The 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) concluded with Michelin’s partner Porsche claiming the top prizes in both the LM P1 and LM GTE Pro classes. Following its return to world class endurance racing in 2014, the Stuttgart brand emerged as the discipline’s team to beat this season despite year-long pressure from fellow Michelin runners Audi (in LM P1) and Ferrari (in LM GTE Pro). By providing tyres developed to meet the specific needs of its different manufacturer teams in this championship which permits open competition between tyre firms, Michelin enabled all of its partners and drivers to fight at the sharp end in the course of the 2015 season. “I would like to congratulate Porsche on its different titles and I am proud of the role Michelin played in its success,” said Michelin Motorsport Director Pascal Couasnon. “We work closely with all of our partners and we were at their side throughout this year’s FIA WEC which was of an extremely high level in both sporting and technological terms. It’s important to remember that this year’s cars marked a big step forward, especially the LM P1 prototypes which boasted power outputs and aerodynamic downforce of an unprecedented level.” The performance, durability and versatility of Michelin’s 2015 range of endurance racing tyres were illustrated by the high grip they delivered in cold weather at Silverstone and Spa, the quadruple-plus stints they permitted in LM P1 at Le Mans, their consistency and also their ability to double stint at the season’s most exacting circuits in high temperatures.

  • Press Release October 31, 2016 No
Press Release October 31, 2016 No. M 220/16 FIA World Endurance Championship WEC, LMP1, Round 8, Shanghai (China), Preview Match point for Porsche in the fight for the manufacturers’ championship Stuttgart. On November 6 the FIA World Endurance Championship is having its eighth and, at the same time, penultimate round of the 2016 season. One year ago in Shang- hai Porsche celebrated an early win in the manufacturers’ world championship. Noth- ing less than the defence of this title is the target for this year’s six-hour race at the Chinese Formula One circuit. So far this season the Porsche Team has achieved five race wins with its two 919 Hybrids and leads the manufacturers’ world championship with 263 points ahead of Audi (204) and Toyota (174). With the current advantage being 59 points, the team could start partying if the gap was at least 44 points after six hours of racing. We very much regret the loss of Audi as a great competitor from the 2017 WEC season on. Porsche will compete in the entire 2017 WEC season as planned. So far Porsche has derived a huge benefit in terms of knowledge and innovations for production cars from the LMP1 programme – this applies in particular to the 24-hour race at Le Mans. To be too relaxed in this year`s fight for the championship would be wrong, warned Fritz Enzinger. The Vice President LMP1 points to last year’s experience: “At the final race in Bahrain in 2015, it was the drivers’ title that seemed fairly easy to get.
