ENZIAN TO PLAY 75th ANNIVERSARY SCREENING OF

Orlando, FL – (October 30, 2015) – For the first time in its history, Enzian Theater will be showing a 4K restoration of Walt Disney’s legendary FANTASIA for its 75th Anniversary. This screening will also show bonus content, including a newly recorded behind-the-scenes look from the orchestra’s rehearsals.

WHAT: Special Programs: FANTASIA Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 12PM 75th Anniversary 4K Restoration Throughout history, there have been but a handful of groundbreaking films where the soundtrack has become inextricably linked to the cinematic achievement of the film itself. There is perhaps no greater example of this marriage than Walt Disney’s 1940 masterpiece, FANTASIA.

This Walt Disney masterpiece is a consummate collection of seven animated shorts, each utilizing a classical score for their background, and all under the direction of Leopold Stokowski. The selections include “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” starring Mickey Mouse; the brilliantly animated “The Rites of Spring”; and the stirring finale, “A Night on Bald Mountain.”

Bonus content: One hundred years after conductor Leopold Stokowski’s – who originally conducted several pieces of FANTASIA—first season with The Philadelphia Orchestra, the acclaimed conductor Yannik Nezet-Seguin now leads the company. The event screenings will include a newly recorded behind-the-scenes look from the orchestra’s rehearsals, including a selection of pieces from FANTASIA. And as if that weren’t spectacle enough, Yannik Nezet-Seguin will lead an exclusive, up-close-and-personal discussion about the history of Stokowski, FANTASIA, and the indelible imprint both left on the modern world symphonic world.
