Before operating this machine, please carefully read this instruction so as to avoid possible damage. This instruction should be well saved.

To operate this machine safely and conveniently, the rules specified as below should be followed:

! Don not use this machine in dangerous areas.

! Confirm the marked voltage value to be the same as local voltage value.

— The only way to cut off electricity of this machine is to pull the plug.

— Only can the accessories and options specially designed for this type by

Bofeng Electronics Company be used.

— Keep the transformer and display control unit away from liquid.

— Do not let liquid soak into the display when cleaning it. Only use wet cotton fabric to clean the monitor.

1.4 Function Descriptions:

System offers two operating language options to users: Chinese and English. If one of them is chosen, the following whole system operating processes will take it as operating language. The language of printer report will be in accordance with the chosen operating language.

The product name can be set by product edit Display current signal,

signal range: 0.0%-99.9%.

This screen offers some choice button of common function. Click different function choice buttons to enter different functions. Click Exit button to enter main function screen.

2.3 Operating guidance:

Please click metal detecting icon on touch [Function Options] screen.

On the screen please click ‘Start’ to start metal detecting.

2.4 Function Descriptions:

Product name: The product name of metal to be tested. Sensitivity: Set by users.

The higher sensitivity, the smaller metal will be tested. Detecting amount: All

products’ amount of detected metal by current product name.

2.5 Notes:

Current signal level should be refreshed in real time. Alarm when signal level reaches or exceeds 50% which means metal content of detected materials is over limit.

3.3 Operating guidance:

Click performance testing icon on [Function options] screen to enter the function. Click ‘Start’ on the screen to perform machine performance testing.

3.4 Function Descriptions:

This function is designed to detect if there is strong magnetic interference in ambient environment and foreign metal materials on conveyor belt.

3.5 Notes:

When using the machine for first time in this function, user needs to perform

performance testing. During the testing process man-made and exterior

interferences are not permitted. If the testing can not be passed user is not

able to perform metal detecting by this machine.

4.4 Function Description:

After starting the product self study function perform product self study for

product under test according to different directions. If the same direction of

product is put in self study the maximum sensitivity will be gained. But during

the product detecting user also needs to put the same direction of product in

metal detecting.

4.5 Notes:

During the study of the product user should avoid large metal or magnetic

material moving around. User should not knock the detector by hand or

object.

5.3 Operating guidance:

Click the log icon on [Function options] screen to enter the function. Click

print current page on the screen and the current page log will be printed out by

port.

5.4 Function descriptions:

General log displays all products’ total and detailed log record.

5.5 Notes:

Detailed log can only save 1000 pieces of recently detected records and the storage amount can be increased per user’s demand.

Choose relative product name according to user’s demand.

Please click the product default settings icon on touch [Function options] screen to enter [Product settings] screen. Click ‘OK’ will confirm and current user chooses the product name.

6.4 Function Description:

Choose different product name according to detecting unused products. If

there is no qualified product name on the screen, user can enter product edit

screen to add new product.

6.5 Notes:

After choosing the product please perform the product self study again if necessary.

7.3 Operating guidance:

Please click product edit icon on LCD [Function menu] screen to enter product

edit function screen. Click ‘Add’ on the screen to add a new product. Click

‘Delete’ to delete a product. Click ‘Modify’ to modify selected product.

During operation user can operate according to status indication.

7.4 Notes:

Sensitivity will be usually set at 85. It can also be set higher or lower but the

product detection will be influenced. User must record a product name when

deleting the product. After adding a new product user must enter product self

study screen to perform product study once. Then user can use the product

name to detect. Current maximum storage amount is 100 and it can be

increased per user’s demand.

8.4 Function descriptions:

Reject time: Rejector movement delay time and set delay time per user’s demand.

Duration: Rejector movement duration time and set duration time per user’s demand.

Rejected: It is the number of detected metal of the product. It can be reset to count from zero.

9.3 Operating guidance:

Please click the function options icon on LCD [Settings] screen to enter function options screen.

9.4 Function description:

Automatic startup hardware detection: If the machine hardware needs to be detected.

Infrared detection switch: If there is infrared sensor on the machine user can open the function to improve the anti- interference capability of the machine.

Counter Switch: If the product alarm count is performed.

Automatic detection switch:User can open the function when there is deleting device to perform product deletion.

9.5 Notes:

Please don’t open relative function if there is no relative device. Otherwise the machine may fail to work normally.

10.3 Operating guidance:

Please click the clock icon on touch [Settings] screen to enter [clock setting] screen. After user click the region to be set (year, month, date, hour, minute and second) relative region will be displayed in reverse color to indicate selected region by user. User clicks ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ button to set selected part. Click ‘OK’ button after setting and user settings will be saved. Then exit the screen and return to the [Settings] screen.

10.4 Function descriptions:

This screen offers user system time and calendar setting function: User can set year, month, date, hour, minute and second separately. System will automatically calculate months and days of each month according to permanent calendar.

10.5 Notes: ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ button will only be effective to the region selected by user (reverse color part). Year, month, date, hour, minute and second can not be selected at the same time. User’s click is invalid when there is not any selected part to be set. If user finds system time does not display correctly after startup for several times, please check and replace the lithium battery. It may be caused by low lithium battery.

11.3 Operating guidance:

Please click the touch screen icon on [Settings] screen to enter [Touch screen correction] screen. The touch screen shows the ‘+’ icon on top left corner first on this page. The icon will disappear after user click it effectively and second ‘+’ icon will display at right side. Similar third ‘+’ icon will display at bottom. The middle square will appear after user clicks the three ‘+’ icons in order and effectively. Click the middle of the square. If the validation value is not correct it will shows error message and display ‘+’ icon again for user’s click. Only when ‘+’ icon is clicked effectively and validation value is correct after present square is clicked user can return to [Settings] screen. Otherwise user needs to repeat above steps.

11.4 Function description:

This screen provides touch screen click verification function. User can perform correction in virtue of the function after long time operation or the click accuracy of touch screen decreases.

11.5 Notes:

The center of ‘+’ icon is the effective click point. Next ‘+’ icon will appear after effective click. The middle square will appear after user clicks the three ‘+’ icons in order and the value is detected effectively by system. Click the middle of the square to get validation value. User can exit the screen only when validation value is correct.

12.4 Function indication:

This screen provides changing password function for user. User can set his or her own password after purchasing the product.

12.5 Notes:

Please remember the password well otherwise you will fail to enter function setting menu. The permanent password for outgoing is ‘rehoo’ which is effective forever in the system.

1.3 Function explanation: The system provides two kinds of language: Chinese and English. Choose one of them as operation prompting language, and the report is to be printed in the operation language selected.

1.4 Attention: When the language selection interface first appears, the system default language is the one selected last time. If changing language is necessary, it should be completed within five seconds.

Click “Start” to conduct calibration.

Weight calibration can ensure that the machine runs normally, to promote accuracy and reduce measurement error. 2.4 Attention: When performing weight calibration, please follow interface prompt step by step, and make sure that the weighing platform is empty while conducting zero-scale calibration. When conducting full-scale calibration, put the weight at the center of weighing platform, and then after the weighing platform gets stable, click “Continue” to complete full-scale calibration. The weight mentioned in the diagrammatic view is the standard weight provided by our company. The weight 1kg is for CMC-230/300, and 200g is for CMC-160.

3.1 Operating steps: System Menu System Setting Input Password Sorting Config 3.2 Interface instruction:

Click this icon to enter “Sorting Config interface.

Click upward or downward arrow to increase or decrease the selected parameter. According to customer’s products, adjust relevant parameter(s).

Click “OK” after finishing adjustment.

36 Baumann CMC Series Sorting Configuration 3.3 Function explanation: Sorting Config function allows customers to set the relevant parameter(s) according to their own products in order to promote the measurement accuracy. Click “Default” to restore the “Factory Setting”. 3.4 Attention: All of the parameter setting is the attribute assignment of present loaded products, and the new-set products adopt default parameters. Parameters are defined as below:

Separating time: The time from the obtaining of product weight to the acting of removing mechanism in the process of separation.

Delay time: The time from the acting of removing mechanism to the reposition of removing mechanism.

Motor speed:

CMC-230/300 Set up the test speed for the present product. m stands for motor speed, and V stands for belt speed.

V  (2m 10)m/ min CMC-160 Set up m stand for the number of the speed of the belt circle. And V stands for the belt speed. V  (0.58m)m/ min

Product length: The product length measured by the customer. 230/300 series less than 25cm, and 160 series less than 15cm.

Weighing time: According to the difference of product attribute, increase the weighing time to gain the more ideal measurement accuracy if the measurement accuracy is too low.

If there is any discrepancy in parameters setting, please contact with the manufacturer.

4 Objective optimization

4.1 Operating steps: System Menu Optimization 4.2 Interface instruction:

Click this icon to enter “Objective Optimizatio n” interface.

Step 1: Put the product to be tested at the center of weighting platform.

Click “Start” to conduct static optimization.

Step 2: Click “Continue” to conduct dynamic Static optimization. Put the optimization product to be tested on the completed. weighting platform for five times so as to finish dynamic learning.

38 Baumann CMC Series Optimization 4.3 Function explanation: Product optimization is the process of statically and dynamically learning the present-loaded product to ensure the obtainment of accurate product weight in separation. 4.4 Attention: In the process of static optimization, the product should be put at the center of weighing platform. After the product on the weighing platform becomes stable, click “Start”. In the process of dynamic optimization, simulate the separation process to put the product on the weighing platform for five times so as to finish dynamic learning. For the new-set product, the optimization process should be performed in order to ensure measurement accuracy; the product, for which optimization has already been done, can be directly loaded in the next measurement.

If the zero point drifts, click “TARE”.

5.3 Function explanation: Through this function, the customer can get the static weight of the product. The weight of the products should be lower than 1kg for CWC-230 series and 200g for CWC-160 series. The target weight of new-set product can be obtained via this function. 5.4 Attention: The displayed number should be zero after the weighing platform is emptied. If the zero point drifts, click “Zero Clearing” to get new zero point; in that the zero point cannot be obtained, perform the weight calibration again in the system setting interface. 40 Baumann CMC Series Product Editing

6. Product Editing

6.1 Operating steps: System Menu Product Editing 6.2 Interface instruction:

Click this icon to enter “Product Edit.

Click the icon “Add Product”.

Click these four options one by one, to modify the name or parameter separately.

After finishing modification, click “OK” to return.

6.3 Function explanation: The function of product editing is to meet the customer’s requirement of testing different products. After being set, the same product can be directly loaded in the next time, that is to say, once and for all. 6.4 Attention: The system provides the default parameters for the new-set products. The customer can modify its parameters according to the requirements of different products, including target weight and appropriate upper limit and lower limit of separation. After confirmation, load the new-set product, and conduct separation parameter setting in the system setting interface and objective optimization in the main menu. After completing the above steps, conduct weight separation.

7.3 Function explanation: Weight sorting is to realize the separation function of the weight testing machine. The interface can display the target weight of the present product, the upper limit and lower limit of separation, the total picked out number and passing number of the same sort product, and the testing weight of passing products at present.

7.4 Additional Functions In order to making checkweigher output weight data to other device easily. The weight data can be output via print port after finishing weight check. Serial port settings as below:

If the communication of transducer fails, cut off the power supply; after the power-off protection for the transducer, restart the machine.

Click “DEL. Click “Print” to ALL” to clean all print the record on records. the present page.

8.3 Function explanation: The report records the name, weight and testing time of the unqualified products in separation. Connect the printer to the machine before printing the present report. 8.4 Attention: Click “Empty” button to delete all the testing records. Confirm the printer is connected before printing. If the customer needs spray code function, contact with the manufacturer.

9.3 Function explanation: The customers can perform relevant setting following interface prompt. Reset function can clean the pick out number and passing number of the present product; separating equipment switch is used to control the act of removing mechanism; the separating direction is the direction of overload removing.

10.3 Function explanation: This interface provides users with the functions of setting system time and calendar, so the users can set system calendar and system time separately. 10.4 Attention:

The users can choose different areas as year, month, date, hour, minute and

second to set them respectively. The area with reverse color is the present setting

column. If finding time display incorrect for times, please check and replace the

lithium battery on the main control panel.

system’s factory-set password is ‘1’, and the users can set and change their own

password. The permanent effective password is “rehoo”

Ⅳ. Maintenance

The maintenance of the machine is an important prerequisite for improving the detection performance, testing whether the machine in normal operation status and lengthening the life of machine. After runs for a long time, the factors such as the polluting and wearing of the parts, fatiguing or ageing of plastic would affect the steady operation of the detector and reduce the performance of the machine, even cause the machine to break down in the most severe cases. Keep maintenance periodically is necessary to eliminate hidden danger and ensure the reliability of its normal operation.

Do cut-off power before maintenance.

1. Installation precautions:

1.1The machine is pre-adjusted before shipment, do not open the equipment for adjustment by yourself and avoid vibrations when lifting or transferring, such parts as chamber wall and junction box can not be under force, the control box shall not be installed near the electric closet so as not to be interfered by power equipment.

1.2. Never install the machine on the vibrative part and the machine shall be well grounded, large moving metal or vibrative metal parts (for example, wheel, gearing, machine and so on) shall be avoid near the machine, any equipment generating spark and electromagnetic interference (for example, DC motor, solenoid valve and so on) shall be located as far as practicable from the machine.

1.3 Strong acid and alkali, aggressive gas, or intense electromagnetism interference shall be kept clear in the surrounding areas of the machine.

1.4 The control box is wall mounted and shall be installed in cool and dry place, grounding the chassis well is required.

1.5 Check if the input line and all the connections of different parts have been correctly made and the voltage of power supply meets the requirements before starting the machine.

1.6 The machine should be heating 3 minutes with the control box powered on to make the detector in normal status before use.

2. Operation and maintenance

2.1The machine shall be maintained periodically and kept clean.

2.2 Turn off the power switch of the control box for long time unused.

2.3 The conveyer belt shall be cleaned periodically and kept clean to avoid false alarms. The weigher shall be calibrated timely if there is any deviation.

2.4 Turn off the power until the motor stops running.

2.5 Please wait 1 minute’ interval to restart the machine.

3. Troubleshooting

If the LED indicator on the panel is in abnormal state when the machine is powered up, shutdown immediately and inspect, the common faults and troubleshooting are presented in the list below.
