General 1.1 The Parent company information Doosan Corporation (the “Company”) was incorporated on December 18, 1933, under the name of Sohwa-Kirin Beer, Ltd. to manufacture and sell beer. The Company has changed its name to Dongyang Beer, Ltd. in February 1948 and again to OB Beer, Ltd. in February 1996 and finally to Doosan Corporation on September 1, 1998. The consolidated financial statements of the Company and its subsidiaries (collectively, the “Group”) have been prepared based on Korean International Financial Reporting Standards (“KIFRS”) 1110 Consolidated Financial Statements. Since June 1973, the Group’s shares have been listed in the Korea Exchange. After several capital issues, the Group’s share capital as of December 31, 2019 is ₩123,738 million, including ₩24,447 million of preferred shares. ORGANIZATION AND DESCRIPTION OF THE BUSINESS: (1) Parent company Doosan Corporation (the “Parent”) was incorporated on December 18, 1933, under the name of Sohwa-Kirin Beer, Ltd., to manufacture and sell beer. The Parent has changed its name to Dongyang Beer, Ltd. in February 1948, to OB Beer, Ltd. in February 1996 and to Doosan Corporation on September 1, 1998. The Parent is a business-type holding company and operates in the Republic of Korea. Since June 1973, the Parent’s stocks have been listed in the Korea Exchange (formerly Korea Stock Exchange). After several capital issues, the Parent’s capital stock as of December 31, 2013, is 132,894 million, including 26,984 million of preferred share.
