Rückblick: NFL Preseason Woche 3 Washington Redskins 21, Buffalo Bills 16 QB Kirk Cousins warf 3 Touchdown-Pässe für die Gastgeber, aber es war nicht alles Gold was glänzte. Cousins zeigte sich etwas eingerostet und warf nur 12/23 Bälle ins Ziel für 188 yds. Eine Interception war in der Statistik auch noch mit dabei. RB Rob Kelley lief engagiert mit 12 rushes zu 51 yds. In der Verteidigung schnappte sich CB Kendall Fuller den Ball zu einer Interceprion. QB EJ Manuel verrichtete Schwerstarbeit mit 21/39 Pässen für 221 yds, aber überzeugte nicht. Keine Touchdowns, eine Interception und keine wirklich gute Completion Rate. QB Tyrod Taylor hat seinen Platz wohl sicher. RB Jonathan Williams erlief sich in 11 rushes 42 yds und einen TD. CB Corey White erzielte ebenfalls eine Interception für die Bills. Carolina Panthers 17, New England Patriots 19 Die Patriots erhielten wieder ermutigende Spieler ihrer beiden Backup-QBs Jimmy Garoppolo und Jacoby Brissett, Tom Brady dagegen warf einen Touchdown-Pass und wirkte als ob ihm die Spielpraxis fehlt. WR Chris Hogan hatte 5 catches für 62 yds und einen TD. In der Verteidigung schnappten sich S Duron Harmon, S Devin McCourty und CB Logan Ryan gleich drei Bälle der Panthers zur Interception. QB Cam Newton diesmal nicht in Form bei den Gastgebern. Nur 13/29 Pässen für 100 yds und 2 Interceptions standen auf seinem Konto nach dem Spiel.

What followed was a multi-year battle between the NFL, a “model” franchise, and one of the league’s most polarizing players, Tom Brady. This case study details what would affectionately become Deflategate through the lens of agenda setting and primarily image restoration theories and contains an analysis of the public relations process.
