Tamil Nadu Minerals Limited over an extent of 9.21Ha. at S.F no. 2, Pappankulam village, Ambasamudram Taluk, Tirunelveli District. The entire mine lease of 9.21 Ha. is Govt. Poramboke land. The location map is shown in Figure 1.1 of EIA Report. Mining and allied activities are associated with several potential hazards both to the employees and the public at large. A worker in a mine should be able to work under conditions that are adequately safe and healthy. At the same time the environmental conditions should be such as not to impair his working efficiency. The various safeguards to be taken to ensure the safety of the mine and that of employees are provided in the Mines Act, 1952.
