Vincze Academic year 2006-2007 Dankwoord In het meest gelezen onderdeel van elk proefschrift, wil ik meteen met de deur in huis vallen: bedankt aan alle mensen die op een of andere manier bijgedragen hebben tot het van stand komen van dit proefschrift. Enkele mensen wil ik echter in het bijzonder bedanken voor de voorbije jaren. Op de eerste plaats komt mijn promotor professor Annemie Adriaens. De vrijheid die ik tijdens mijn doctoraat gekregen heb, maakte het mogelijk om mijn wetenschappelijke loopbaan zo divers mogelijk te maken. Ik kreeg tal van kansen om me verder te bekwa- men: 15 synchrotronverblijven, 8 internationale congressen, 3 studieverblijven; het klinkt verbluffend, en dat was het ook.
